  1. "Girl overboard" by Miss Moore Now I could give you a big list - but I couldn't confirm they are all 'must haves' There were one or two 'not so good' ones recorded - Alley on Jay Boy for one But to be honest, the good ones far outweigh the bad ones by miles
  2. Regarding the release date of this 45, I'm not certain - but if this site is accurate: https://www.jazzdisco...hy-1966/#660707 Then the recordings were done in July 1966 in NYC It also states that there were two release numbers for "Morning morning": Richie Havens (g, vo) and others NYC, July 7, 1966 100810 I Can't Make It Anymore Verve-Forecast KF 5022, FT 3006 100811 Morning, Morning Verve-Forecast KF 5022, KF 5039, FT 3006 * Richie Havens - Mixed Bag (Verve-Forecast FT 3006) * Richie Havens - I Can't Make It Anymore c/w Morning, Morning (Verve-Forecast KF 5022) * Richie Havens - Morning, Morning c/w I've Gotta Go (Verve-Forecast KF 5039 ) I've also just checked my 'records' and found that I've actually got a copy of 5039 - and what's more... it's also a demo! This of course makes Palang's post (#32) not quite correct as there are actually 2 separate 45 releases with "Morning Morning" on. Here's a scan of "I've gotta go", which was the side I bought it for in the first place. But I still have yet to confirm the actual release date of the 45! Just had another browse on that site and noted "I gotta go" as recorded on March 1st 1967 - still can't see any release dates for the 45s though...
  3. Mention of Gil Bernal's recording of the Smokey song "Can you love a poor boy", reminds me of one of my fave versions of this song by Ronnie Walker Taken from the CD "Someday"
  4. No, he never got around to it... according to this forum post anyway:https://www.corfid.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=14117 I also think both recordings of the song are good - in their own way
  5. I remember we had a Telefunken reel to reel recorder sometime in the mid to late 60's Something like this one I seem to think. But I don't think I bothered recording anything particular on it - nor bought any pre-recorded tapes for it. But eight tracks was a different matter, I had a few of those
  6. It was a proper oldie by the time it got plays there! I remember it getting spins in the late 60's and then in the early 70's getting re-issued on mojo due to the 'demand' Actually... I don't remember it being 'huge' at Wigan at all - I must have missed it for whatever reason. Still like to hear it now and then tho
  7. Not forgetting the UK release of this on Buddah! But I do seem to think the Curtom release is a little bit harder to find? But it's a lovey tune whichever format you get it on
  8. I'll agree on this also - I picked mine up from Record Corner after being told about it from a Yate regular I knew - it was a long time after that beore it got major plays elsewhere (as far as I can remember anyway!) The Majestics though, I don't remember hearing until the early to mid 80's.
  9. It's a boot, probably from the Beach scene. It was mentioned on here in April /forums/topic/129119-2-wants/
  10. I don't think I've ever heard this one, only seen reviews in mags - I've no doubt it's already in refosoul but never thought to check
  11. DON GARDNER - IS THIS REALLY LOVE - Is this the one then - It's a good chance I'd say
  12. Hmmm - interesting, so presumably we could even see a green copy of the above Bobby Reed 45? (2089)
  13. No - I think that was was much earlier, it was his version of the old Ashford & Simpson song
  14. Yes possibly there is one Roger, I noticed the Bobby Reed is a few numbers earlier and has a white 'non' WB promo, but the Voice Box for example being a later one is the WB release. It could possibly be a clue as to how close it was to when the yellow Loma releases stopped?
  15. Y'know what they say about Yorkshire folk - cheaps not the word (Or skate either!) Sean - mending slowly, but surely - thanks
  16. Great theme Roger! I'd not realised that the above Linda Jones promo was of the Green Warner Bros release.... Was there also a promo for the yellow copy? I can't really say as I'd noticed.
  17. If only there was somewhere that plays this kind of stuff eh Oh - I just remembered, there is - isn't there
  18. Speaking once more of Walter - I just love this one! Pure class!
  19. Phew! - that makes me feel a bit better knowing I'm not the only one Got to dig out me CD though and check for the 'Gold foil' - don't think it's got any though...yet! Here's a scan of the LP cover:
  20. Never had a white one, did have a green one for a time but now just got the yellow issue
  21. Y'know - I hadn't realised there was more than one mix of this I only knew of the Jap Goldwax CD version back in the day when it first got spins at Yarmouth / Pitches etc. I've just compared the above CD recording with the LP recording of Andys and they sound the same - so does that mean the Kent 45 was another mix which only surfaced via Kent? I guess so... In fact I think Adey just answered that one whilest I'm typing. I suppose there goes my 'street cred' now
  22. I don't think they'll be far out Dave - I was more giving your site a plug / memory jog than blaming you if the info is wrong... but if the cap fits and all that (Actually I guessed you'd only include dates if you thought they were right and they were around the years I expected they should be - without digging through loads of mags for no doubt the same answers)
  23. I know the price, just wondered who it was... Think I'll just stick with my loma copy
