  1. Here's a couple more of his Buddah sides:
  2. There was also a release by him called "Train keep on moving" came out on Cal State - isn't this the same song? Just a slightly different title maybe - or is it an entirely different song?
  3. Don't know so much about the price, but it was played in the early 80's by Richard Searling at Clifton Hall (amongst other places) and it was indeed covered as Tyrone Edwards - for quite some some time also as I recall
  4. Yes,it's on an LP and also a 45 RPM EP
  5. Also released in the UK on Dave Godin's Soul City label. Sorry, no spare though
  6. Yes, this was last discussed a few months back and there are one or two more copies around Check out this link:
  7. I get a feeling they don't really want to sell this... Whatever it is!
  8. Yes, a great double sider it is You really need to have the issue for both of them as the promo is a same both sides of "I'm his wife" Which I just had to get after hearing Curtis play at the Mecca back in the 70's, so I had to get the demo and an issue didn't I Yes Mike - there were some I heard last time at JS that I also thought I'd never hear played out - Jackie Moore for one Sorry - I've no spare though, but I'll keep an eye out for you.
  9. This was released twice, my copy was the second release - with "Teasin' me" as the A side. That's not a bad tune, written by Eddie Singleton I seem to think ? Also not forgetting the song in question by Ashford & Simpson / Jo Armstead
  10. Can someone please post that link on here for me? For some reason I can't get on EMS without logging in - and I haven't been able to do that for years Since they went web based anyway!
  11. Who's complaining then Dave? Someone who doesn't like their own song I guess...
  12. John has a copy on his site right now, but it doesn't mention it's anything BUT... if you search on Gemm, John's copy is categorised as 'RE-ISSUE' https://www.gemm.com/item/KING-c-TURNER--AND--HIS--BLUES--BLASTERS/TWO--LOVES/GML8782248/ On both sites however, it does mention it's Big Joe Turner - so maybe it's just an oversight rather than trying to mislead? BTW - co-incidently, Craig Moerer also has one for sale...
  13. But just how often does the 45 turn up? It seems like ages since I last heard of one...
  14. Here's my only NZ Stateside (I think?) Darrell Banks:
  15. Here's the US promo: I'm afraid my UK demo is a bit 'crackly' otherwise we might have been able to do something!
  16. Not a foreign one Martin, it's my US demo - didn't I show it you once before? Like in March 2006....
  17. No Blake, it's not just UK only : Argentina released it (it's not mine though), plus I've got it on a US Paramount mono / stereo promo along with a UK promo. I don't know if there was a US issue though, but it's most likely.
  18. Here's a few more goodies from Stax and associated labels: Of course there's loads more that could be added to these
  19. YesPaul that's the correct title on the Poppies LP....it was also released with that same title on a 45 in Chile:
  20. Yes it's featured on a few to my knowledge: Best of Soul Time: a Selection of Northern Soul Classics from the Archives Ofcolumbia Epic & Date https://www.amazon.co...a/dp/B00006GF76 The Poppies meet the Glories https://www.gocontine...n_poppies.shtml I'm sure there's more than these two... Edit: - Pete beat me to it
  21. Agreed on all that's been said about the lady - but it just reminded me... wasn't there something by her - as Sandra Richardson that Richard Searling has been known to play now and then over the years? For the life of me I can't remember the title but I seem to think it was some unissued thing?
  22. I know this was a long time back, but I don't think the blue Calla copy has been featured yet, this is the short intro with "Good-bye love" on the A side. It would appear that the spoken intro copies are numbered 'C127B' whereas the short intro copies are 'C127BN' Plus also the slight difference in the timing for the short intro being 2 mins while the spoken intro is longer at 2:28 Here's a scan of the spoken intro DJ copy for comparison. I know it doesn't help much as to who Frankie is / was though - I've never know that myself, nor been quite sure of the 'he or she' aspect of it either
  23. I've got one of these but it's a New Zealand copy (MCA 3029) Would this be the same mix / take as the Aussie copy you mentioned? Can't really say I was aware of it being different, so never thought to compare it...
  24. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the Bobby Sheen one of those 'dodgy' one that came out some years back? I thought the proper demos had the *stars* on the flip side? The official 'A' side was "I may not be what you want" NOT "Something new to do"
  25. Lovely tune it is Also features as track 1 on the Israeli LP - currently my Avatar
