  1. Ir's not like Manship not to mention boot or repro if it is ! ! I guess everybody makes mistakes ?

John has a copy on his site right now, but it doesn't mention it's anything

BUT... if you search on Gemm, John's copy is categorised as 'RE-ISSUE'

    https://www.gemm.com/item/KING-c-TURNER--AND--HIS--BLUES--BLASTERS/TWO--LOVES/GML8782248/

On both sites however, it does mention it's Big Joe Turner - so maybe it's just an oversight rather than trying to mislead?

BTW - co-incidently, Craig Moerer also has one for sale... rolleyes.gif

  2. hey John thats the fourth different copy of leave the girl alone ive seen . it looks usa or is it one of your foreign demo's

Not a foreign one Martin, it's my US demo - didn't I show it you once before?

    Like in March 2006....

  3. Agreed on all that's been said about the lady - but it just reminded me... wasn't there something by her - as Sandra Richardson that Richard Searling has been known to play now and then over the years?

For the life of me I can't remember the title but I seem to think it was some unissued thing?

I know this was a long time back, but I don't think the blue Calla copy has been featured yet, this is the short intro with "Good-bye love" on the A side.

It would appear that the spoken intro copies are numbered 'C127B' whereas the short intro copies are 'C127BN'

Plus also the slight difference in the timing for the short intro being 2 mins while the spoken intro is longer at 2:28

Here's a scan of the spoken intro DJ copy for comparison.

I know it doesn't help much as to who Frankie is / was though - I've never know that myself, nor been quite sure of the 'he or she' aspect of it either

  5. Dave, John Rowles on an Aussie MCA label 7" from 1969 is by far the best .. and rarest version of this tune ! The Aussie release is a much faster and ballsiermix/take than the US Kapp 7" release .

I've got one of these but it's a New Zealand copy (MCA 3029)

Would this be the same mix / take as the Aussie copy you mentioned?

Can't really say I was aware of it being different, so never thought to compare it...

  6. Yes for my sins i too have the promo 12" & CD.......oh and the 45 (courtesy of Mr Briscoe many moons ago at yarmouth  )

Never got myself a 12" though, just the 7", CD album.... and the one above

  7. You cynical old Hector........ Its neither John, I was really surprised by the £500 price tag and thought it would make an interesting topic!......

.....As Sean says a toughie, but in quality worth every penny.

PS. not changed your mind about Bilbao?

OK Blake, I stand corrected! I thought for a moment you were 'sounding out' the market!

PS - I've not seen you for ages to tell you have I - so we'll be seeing you at the airport :hatsoff2:
