  1. There's a previous thread about this here:
  2. I guess the question about the orange copy is more related to the artist, if it's credited to The Inspirations, it's original. If it's Charles Diamond (and the label is orange) then I can't be sure as I've only seen those on a pink label. Has anyone got a scan of the Charles Diamond release with an orange label?
  3. No doubt the number of copies appearing up for sale in the near future will give some indication of how many copies are out there
  4. Baby Washington: Rita Graham : Might I add, these are not the same song, just the same titles, Have a listen and you can tell easily. Baby Washington's was written by A Felder, J Freeman & T Conway Rita Graham's was written by H Wallis & C Stone
  5. Just checked and it's available to view 'on demand' plus it looks as if it's on again Sunday morning at 6:00, for those that missed the Saturday repeat at 12:30 pm
  6. I don't know how many versions of this are out there, but PJ Proby also did it - on his Liberty LP, Enigma I think it was?
  7. Mr Smith himself asked about some of these a few years back... The plot thickens:
  8. I thought that looked like the 70's release, this one looks suspect: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BOBBY-HUTTON-LEND-A-HAND-WIGAN-CASINO-MONSTER-NORTHERN-SOUL-LISTEN/291096144803?_trksid=p2047675.c100011.m1850&_trkparms=aid%3D222006%26algo%3DSIC.FITP%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20202%26meid%3D5321532341809040480%26pid%3D100011%26prg%3D9063%26rk%3D0%26rkt%3D10%26sd%3D200925531663
  9. Hmm, I see what you mean, there's some 'suspect' copies out there. first glance I'd say the ones with no middles, like the US releases are dodgy, the original UK 45 was a solid centre, I don't remember seeing any dinked copies. If there are any, the big 'A' in the middle is bigger than the hole that would be left. I'm fairly sure that it would still be partially visible if it had been punched out for juke box use etc. The solid centre ones look OK to me. But if anyone knows more, do tell
  10. Can't say as I'd noticed the UK release of this getting any other issue - or have I missed something? I'd have to check the ones you mentioned to see.
  11. That will explain why his name wasn't familiar to me then. Still, it's not good news to hear is it?
  12. I've only got this on the CD "In and out of love" so can't be certain. But going on the label scan on Discogs, it looks like it could be the CD version on the A side and the remix on the flip side. The promo scan gives the impression it's the Dr Scratch mix on the A side and the Stomp mix on the other side. But it's not very clear is it? https://www.discogs.com/master/view/136772
  13. Great stuff, actually the intro says the title, something along the lines of: " and the name of this song is I got what it takes, part one and part two... And three if we have time"
  14. I have it on UK London, so have no problem with bootlegs! I can't actually remember noticing one though, "reach out" a great song in its own right, has never been in big enough demand to warrant booting. But as Pete says, if it's in the book, then it must be true
  15. Same here Malcolm, my 'I Haven't got Anything Better to do' is also vinyl, but it does appear that "Where is that rainbow" is styrene - although it's not all that obvious like the 70's styrene 45s are. Nice one with the Australian demo too, I've just got 3 different US copies and a UK promo of it (!) I drew the line at that and decided not to go hunting every different countries release by her Although.. if any were to cross my path cheap enough, who knows
  16. Cheers Dave, errr, I've got that CD, but didn't connect the song with it! Ooops!
  17. Nice, not quite like Jerry Butler's version. But it's my first time of hearing, so it could grow on me. But where does "Just another guy" fit in, is that another live only recording or something?
  18. Dee Dee is one of my fave singers and I have almost everything she released, so I could be deemed to be biased. I wouldn't go so far as to say I dislike the 45 version, I like both for different reasons - but the album version just sounds better. Obviously that's just my opinion...
  19. Sorry, no - I'd never heard of it before your want went up.
  20. Just googled it, it's a 1980 release on Matthias records. It's on YouTube also.
  21. There were a few UK 45s by them on Creole - was it one of them? I don't recognise the title though.
