  1. I have a spare of Kitty White, PM sent
  2. Much, much rarer version than that on Herald. A VG+ copy went through ebay last month for £170 This one is VG+ to EX - clean vinyl looks near mint bar isolated mark or two - and I will take £140 PM to reserve Video clip is from actual copy: Sugar Boy Williams - Little Girl Take Your Time.mp3
  3. Keep A'Calling / Look At My Baby shouldn't be too hard, but then I never seem to get any joy posting wants up here! PM if you can buck the trend!
  4. Well I've been looking for a copy for a couple of years at least. There are a few I know of... Fred in Denmark, Thorsten, obviously this copy and Dennis'. I also lost both copies on ebay, and also at private auction, which actually went for over $500, and I don't think to any of the above, so there is obviously interest in it, though I also can't really see it being a big pull for mod dj's, let alone soul dj's. Too raw for most I'd have thought... If anyone, it would be those on the garage end of R&B - if there is such a place - that might go for it. Personally, I love the artist, and this is probably only his 3rd best record - and none of them are particularly easy to find, but this is still one I'd love to get eventually, for sure...
  5. Anyway, that's my opinion, I don't mean to be confrontational. Just a bit like ground hog day, this argument
  6. I didn't say I wasn't arsed about the format, I said I like buying records, and I collect originals. I guess people who buy reissues like buying records but don't value the original as much as we do, so they buy the reissue. Or else they like having the music on record and buy the reissue while they wait for an original. Or else they like having the music on record but don't collect a certain genre as much as another so are happy with reissues. Or perhaps they collect reissues. There are a world of possible reasons, and I don't believe anyone should need an 'excuse' for buying a reissue. I'm a record collector who owns a copy of the original pressing of Frances Burr. It hasn't become worthless to me overnight. I like the music - a real lot - and as such I like having it on original pressing - as I'm a record collector. I don't really see what the confusion is. If you only buy records because you believe there is something exclusive and sacred about having the music on vinyl and this value system is so fragile as to be shattered by the mere existence of a small run reissue of said music, on vinyl, I think you need to re-evaluate in light of the real world.
  7. Sometimes I think record collectors have "no soul". There is too much shit music in such high abundance for someone to get upset about 500 people in the entire world getting to enjoy something this good. In my opinion. And I am a record collector too.
  8. You used to love it, not anymore? Good. I'd rather people who appreciated the music rather than the exclusivity of the plastic it is pressed on continue to enjoy it. I appreciate both and wouldn't be looking to sell my original before or after the fact. Because the music sounds exactly the same as it did before, and I still like collecting good music on original pressings.
  9. Not the same person, we couldn't find Burr but found out enough to establish that she is / was a different singer, for sure. RobbK is correct, she was a Chicago native, and local blues singer. Since neither of her records did any business, her career started and ended with those 2 salem releases

  11. A copy sold here for £60 a week or two ago. I still have a couple of stock copies of this obscure proto-disco mover left for £40. Unplayed EX to M- PM to reserve https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h2jV6-PmFgc
  12. I will do, if this other lead falls through.
  13. Yeah, always liked it, never really looked for it too much but never really seen it come up Anyway, think I'm on the scent of one now, hopefully anyhow...
  14. M- unplayed stock copy Superb soulful, funky gospel Obscure Louisiana private press release £100 Clip:
  15. Cash or decent trades waiting - PM or email liam at jazzmanrecords.co.uk Cheers
  16. Sonny Til - Hey! Little Woman (Charlie Parker) M- SOLD Freddy King - Now I've Got A Woman (Federal) EX HELD PM to reserve Paypal (gift) preferred THX!
  17. No takers, for some reason! So I'll reluctantly take £45 inc regular postage, if that convinces anyone, otherwise I'll keep the fecker as a spare! Scan here: Clip from actual record here: Springers-Ves-Thad.mp3
  18. EX ISSUE copy £85 NOW £75 Cracking funky female soul. As far as I can recall, this is the first pink issue copy I've seen in my life, normally shows up on green demo. I haven't hiked the price accordingly - just saying! PM to reserve. Paypal gift preferred
  19. £60 for Debbie then?? Like pulling teeth at the moment! 60 quid is a bargain, surely!
  20. B/W - (You're Drawing Me) Closer And Closer VG - quite a lot of scuffs, marks etc - but plays great, almost perfect with one or two isolated background pops. £50 Hands down one of my favourite records, and perhaps my favourite ballad, totally great, moody, atmospheric group sound. Flip is a worthy uptempo soul dancer, but the ballad is the only winner. Recently picked up a Mint copy but that's taken me about 8 years! PM to reserve
  21. Need to pull together some funds quickly so will take £65 on the Debbie - and I doubt you'll see another copy at that price
  22. Final reductions on the above, with the emphasis on the word BARGAIN!
  23. Debbie & The Lads - Dear Lord Above (Ladd) EX - label off centre as all copies (centre-hole fine so NAP) £75 NOW £60 !! Good price on this, my last copy. Had a handful when they turned up a couple of years back, suspect they have dried up now. Was, of course a 500 quid and up record previously. Philharmonics - I Need, I Need Your Love (Soulin) EX SOLD Ditto this really, had a few in the past, source now well and truly dried up and a class record that collectors will surely never grow tired of J.J. Jackson - Oo-Ma-Liddi (Storm) VG £20 NOW £15 Looks on lower end of VG (on my scale anyway, which is fairly conservative I think). Plays loud with a few pops here and there. PM to reserve Paypal gift preferred
  24. Yes, anyone have a Count Demon for me??!
