  1. Haha, ¤r du ocks¥ uppe Fonzie? Ska kolla lite ebay, bra tid nu t¤nkte jag. Sorry guys for going OT.
  2. My brother foolishly used to smoke but has now been on Zyban for a month and has had no urge to smoke at all during that time. He says it really works and so far he hasn't developed man breasts or had any further growth of his tail. On the contrary he looks so much younger and healthier. On the subject of non-smoking venues; it's heaven I tell you! We've had the ban for 18 months and it's just wonderful. Can't wait till you get it too, will be a lot less clothes needed in the baggage and I really don't need no carcinogenic smoke in my lungs when I'm out dancing, thank you.
  3. Bought Alcon Shades on ebay last summer, got it rather cheap, no one else was bidding on it. Haven't seen another copy for sale since. Really nice crossover if I may say so myself.
  4. You never do right (My baby) - fi-dels - keymen 12999 refosoul
  5. Totally agree! Haven't got the chance to spin it yet, but will do very soon.
  6. Current faves: Festivals - Checkin' out - Blue Rock (instant party) Dynamite Singletary - The same way you love your man... - Dynamite (b side just as good) Freedom - High on you - Freedom ( b side NOT as good) Towanda Barnes - You don't mean it - A&M demo (classic, I can see why) Volumes - You got it baby - Inferno (this really should be a classic. Explosive 60's) Another fave, although no dancer, is Floyd Beck - I'm in love - Timeless Not for the strictly 60's people I'm afraid. I'm In Love - floyd beck - timeless 12716 refosoul
  7. Now I Know - mandells - trans world sound 12388 refosoul Listen to this - soooo beautiful. Perfect harmonies.
  8. They don't look that white to me... https://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&a...11:h86gtq1ztu48 Lovely tune indeed. Channels sound whiter on their other release on Groove 'I've got my eyes on you' / 'Anything you do', which is also great.
  9. I'm pretty sure Karl Marthon from Sweden has 'You move you lose' on a 7". Hard to find, yes, and a brill tune. Now why can't I get the soundclip to work??? I'm obviously logged in and at least I thought I had a validated account?
  10. Got this in the mail today, great happy (despite the title) uptempo tune. Thanks Hanna for giving me the tip!
  11. Tack sj¤lv! I also seem to remember Topics - Rose and Freedom - High on you amongst others.
  12. I agree, totally awesome. Too bad downloads aren't allowed anymore...
  13. Anyone?
  14. Could some kind soulie please put up a soundfile of Broken Melody - What's happening baby?? (Or email it to helena_stromdahl@hotmail.com, or try to pm) How much does it go for?
  15. Because 'I want my baby back' is a brilliant tune. Suppose noone wants to sell a MINTISH (have it in Vg+ already) copy for around £20?
  16. Yes it was. He played it at Madame Jojo's earlier that night as well.
  17. Top tune!
  18. Well I didn't. Spoke to Keb about it and he said he got the same good feeling from listening to rockabilly as from soul. Interesting thread btw. In Malmoe, Sweden, we've got two soul-orientated clubs and as long as the music's got a nice beat people will dance to it, i.e. everything from 60's northern to funk and 80's disco. It's all about how good you are at promoting and presenting.
  19. I have the LP (possibly for sale...M-) and the '45. The versions differ a bit, the one on the LP is over 5 mins (the '45 version is 3.50 i think) and isn't as "tight" in production if you know what I mean. The LP version also has a guitar break that's over one minute towards the end, but that can always be faded out. I think there are some decent tracks on the LP, but nothing as good as JLMLYOMT. Great tune!
  20. This IS the best 70's record ever, enough said! Both sides are totally mind-blowing, great dancers.
  21. No, she sounds like a full-grown woman, but I didn't say all were squeeky! Still would have prefered a male version though. Also, I don't think it's always down to the vocal performance itself. I'd say that generally girls were given a slightly different type of songs to record. The type that was more "easy listening" with innocent lyrics and not so raw and obscure-sounding (like they've recorded it in a garage or something), which I like. I've never been the girlie-girl. There are of course numerous examples of the vice versa, but it's still a tendency I think.
  22. Males males males. I really like male group harmonies. There are few things worse in the world of soul than hearing squeeky teenage girls singing out of key. The female voices I like tend to be deeper and sound a bit masculine.
  23. Thanks, that's what I've doing the past year! But I want to be able to listen to it on my mp3 player, and without those comments in Scottish/Japanese (which are rather funny I must say, but nevertheless...). Keb's set is divided into three shows for those interested, all well worth a listen.
  24. I've been after an mp3 for a year, so if anyone has one, please pm it to me too! That will be the closest I get to actually own a copy, sad really...
