  1. If the Four Tops is Ex to Mint I'll have it please
  2. Someone wants to make a hit song great, cover a relatively unknown singer and pay the dues that's great too. Not sure how marketing a cover version on the back of a music scene, ai ethically alright? Although the open nature of the scene means anyone can and will whatever any else wants. I'm just not sure if its good for the future of the scene itself vs. youngsters coming in and energising it in the clubs - which is where the scene is rather than in the charts. That's my opinion but I'm from Watford so what do I know.
  3. I think it’s been used already (Beatles tracks) to extract individual parts of recordings so they can be reconstructed which could be useful to the scene where there are no original masters, not the best solution but better than nothing
  4. Yes, it does have the MR and delta number as you say Ady, thanks all
  5. I’ve got two copies and wondering if either are original or bootlegs
  6. Another problem is the lack of younger dancers and how we get a good mix of old and young to keep a/the scene going even if it evolves into something different/new
  7. I think it's a balance, danceable tunes people know and know how to dance good too plus less well known tunes. As well as dancing one of the valuable things from nights is coming away with an unknown but incredibly catch tune in your head and thinking I must find out what that is. My main thing is that dancing is less well documented that the music and I think there's a risk of losing this crucial part of the scene to history.
  8. One thing that amazes me are the lyrics that seem to echo the scene but were of course written in a different decade, country and context. Obvious one is out on the floor but even the various Breakaway songs talk about being out of the mainstream.
  9. Misread that as Casino Code, which is an interesting concept, no drinks on the dance floor etc
  10. Melodie - Bobby Darin
  11. Bernadette - The Four Tops
  12. Looks like I’m going then
  13. Is there parking near by?
  14. Yes you can bring your own drink and also top up supplies from the local supermarket which is 2 minutes away. There is also a BYOB Indian Restaurant across the road if you get peckish. There will ice and some glasses but come prepared or buy your own on the night
  15. Quite liked the Balenciaga biog and there’s a new series of Slow Horses coming in September
