  1. A few white Goldwax variants:
  2. Two other Bandstand USA variants, and 2 on Goldwax light blue:
  3. 121 - The Dispositions - It's Gonna Be Changed / Don't Let The Sun Catch You Crying
  4. Perhaps some of the Hemphill 45s account for the lower numbers in the Crown Ltd discography? These are from 1968 and have the same crown on top of the label:
  5. The booklets are great for both volumes, both about 16 pages, with some great pictures and lots of info.
  6. The booklet of the great "Birmingham Sound" CD (Rabbit Factory) pictures a promo copy of the Bobby Dobyne 45, with handwritten date August 20-69. The matrix number on the Spring Highland Gospel Singers 45 (PRP 10861) indicates a 1969 date.
  7. The Dobyne 45 has SoN 78081 on the label, according to https://www.45rpmreco...=1&totalRows=56 it should then be from 1970 (or later).
  8. Greg, these are slow gospel songs with just piano/organ behind her vocals. Don't know how to upload it here but you can send a PM if you still want to hear it. Some Sound Of Birmingham 45s have a similar label design: There's another with a similar label by the Chosen Sons Of God (SoB 109 - He Put Us Here / Handwork Of God), does anyone know of other SoB releases between 101-108?
  9. Nice one, the Blind Billy 45, never heard of it before. These early releases seem to be from 1969/1970 judging by the matrix numbers. Here's another early gospel 45 (at least I think it fits in above, the type of crown is the same as on 106): This was then reissued in 1983 on the label: Here's a weird (non-music) one on the (same?) label with Charles Hickson's tale of a UFO encounter:
  10. According to the info on Champ 2035 the label was then based in Nashville and the studio in Johnson City:
  11. I've updated the discography as much as possible with the info in this thread.
  12. I'm pretty sure the Percy Milem 45 is a Dutch bootleg.
  13. I guess it's indeed Toussaint McCall's label. I've got 4 releases on the label:
  14. Arch was started by Nick Charles, a DJ who had a few releases on Stax https://staxrecords.free.fr/charles.htm . He also produced (with Steve Cropper) some of the earlier Arch releases (Lindell Hill, Delrays).
  15. I can send you mp3s of both sides (don't know how to upload them here). The 2 tracks are similar in style to (but not as good as) the slower L.H And The Memphis Sounds Hollywood tracks, so perhaps there is some connection between the 2 groups.
  16. Ady, here's a scan, I can do a hi-res scan later today if you still need it then.
  17. Ady, here are scans of the 2 sides, with the writers info. If have no idea if the groups are related.
  18. Probably 1970: https://www.45rpmreco...ate_monarch.php
  19. A Goldwax recording on the rare Memphis Beale Street label (nationally on Savoy): Here's a cheap copy (though in Fair condition) of one of the rarest Goldwax 45s for some US Goldwax collector (no international shipping): https://www.ebay.com/...5#ht_910wt_1097 And here's one missing in the discography mentioned above:
  20. You can listen to the other side here: https://www.sirshambling.com/artists_2012/J/george_jackson/index.php
  21. This should be a good one , thanks! This one was orginally on Golden, also out of Louisiana:
  22. I think the blue one below is an issue:
  23. 1017 - Right Combination - Storyteller / Wrapped Up, Strung Out, Chained & Bound
  24. The picture is also used on the Crown LP Lightning Hopkins Sings The Blues: (scan from https://www.bsnpubs.com)
  25. The discography on sirshambling is not correct. Brownstone 7071 is "Who Am I / Love Is Not A Stranger Anymore", with A-7071 and B-7071 respectively on the label. However, in the dead wax A and B is swapped, i.e. 7071-B and 7071-A, respectively. The mistake is copied to the Dig release, which has 7071-B on label and dead wax for "Love Is Not A Stranger Anymore", which actually plays "Who Am I".
