  6. interestingly this record was also played and collected on the rock and roll scene(as a stroller,i think they called this type of dance ?) i used to go to rock and roll nights cos my mate got into it and i heard it played a few times, hope that hasnt put you off your new purchase bud ! great tune jason
  7. thebig thing about stafford for me was the secrecy of it all,the illusiveness, the unknown, the covered up,as a 16yr old boy i was fascinated by this magical and sometimes dark place, the kebites who would dress like him, the strange wind up characters, tunes that we wouldnt be told the name of and that seemed as rare as monet paintings,i loved it,lovedit with a passion and as already said it shaped my life musically,it ws 25 years ago but to me it was the greatest allnighter ever jason
  8. sure ive seen one on here in sales today bud jason
  9. was johnny hendley the lonely for you baby-sam dees or was that covered as dan brantley ? jason

  11. thanks for all yr replies folks,i appreciate the info, cant afford one at the moment but i know what price range im looki at now , love the frantic rawness of this now but i didnt like it at all for years, strange how our tastes can change with time isnt it thank you jason
  12. towanda barnes-you dont mean it-a&m,how much for an origonal of this please ? ive fell in love with this brill tune again thank you jason
  13. keb darge for turning this scene on its head guy hennigan for making me think ...what the fook is this ! dave thorley for stafford (this applies to the previous two also) and giving me memories of 80s stafford that i will cherish forever a bit sentimental i know but ive had a few cans:beer: jason these are in no particular order by the way
  14. thanks bud but gonna keep tryn on here first, will give the remix version a listen mate:thumbsup: jason

  17. i agree, superb quirky record, the thing is,i already bought one of franc at usos soul nite a few months ago, this ones for a mate of mine whos after it,never heard it played out but then again i dont go out much, hope my mate hasnt already got one,i reckon a few people have already got it for the brown and beautiful side not realising this gem is on the flip, always play both sides thats what i say ! jason
  18. pm sent franc jason
  19. thanks bud but i may have already got one,i appreciate yr help though jason
  20. one of the reasons i stopped doin niters many years ago was i couldnt hack the horrendous comedowns afterwards, it got worse as i got older, really messed me up for a few days and then id go do it all again ! didnt make sense in the end, now i only manage soul nites and i dont mind sitting at home with a beer and me edfones on with soul music, its strange but i listen to more soul music now and collect more than i ever did when i was allnighter active years ago and i went to at least one allnighter every weekend for ten years at one point ! being a single dad dictates what i can and cant do these days and im all the better for it, im not knocking those who do allnighters regulary(wish i had the choice to be honest) but just giving my angle to this debate, so in answer to imberboys question....not much could entice me to a allnighter these days jason
  21. hi all, would like one of these if possible please,pm me jason
  22. kindly shepherds - lend me a hand -
  23. recently bought a kindly shepherds from someone on here, just love swan silvertones, also that "trying to make a hundred" record is ace,and lets not forget the brilliant gospel funk of "the relatives" album,i think theres a place for gospel in this scene and as the northern sounds become harder to discover people are or will delve into different musicall styles to keep things moving,we will soon be looking into things like rockabilly and uptempo blues and nicking whatever fits into our scene, bring it on i say, great thread baz jason
  24. quality tunes bud, enjoyed your tunes last nite mate jason
