  2. I have Dee's (FXD 110) Dee's Special - Sir Dee / Gonna Look For My Girl - Lloyd & Cecil What about this one here Pete, ever seen one of these???? Rocksteady by the way (UK recorded)
  3. Lovin' Spoonful did a credible version of 'You Baby' too..
  4. Had to laugh at the description.... 'imports' ???????? since when does popping out the perforated middle section of a UK record make it an import? He does live in London so NO EXCUSES!!
  5. Absolute classic in the Rocksteady genre! A want for most people who are into this stuff, me included! The Uniques (with Slim Smith) are one of the best groups to come out of JA, so soulful. I've got loads of UK Island but not one Uniques 45 on this label, they always get snapped up! What's on the flip Pete? Bet it's a good un' too!
  6. The flip of Little Herman 'Gotta Keep On Walking' is far superior!!! (imho)
  7. Millionaires? (no, not how solvent they are! The group name!) Don't think I'm right, just going by the lyrics...('and the rains came')
  8. If it's not Bunny Siglar, what about Benny Latimore???
  9. Picture 2 is paul & Linda with Eddie Floyd?? picture 1 ...the same + Bunny Siglar?????
  10. We gave a free CD at our last Dukes Head in Kings Lynn....no problems if anybody wants to copy for a friend...after all, once it's yours you're free to do what you like with it. I just look at as publicity for our events!
  11. It wasn't 'Horse' it was in fact Trojan (all brown label) TR77870. 1972 You're right about Jackie Edwards, that's the official 'A' side 'Sugarloaf Hill' but actually credited to Del Davis.
  12. You got mail
  13. 'How Do You Feel Now' came out on a Stardust 45.
  14. This one written by Mae Connelly....his wife/sister?
  15. Maycon 112 /flip 113 - They Never Told Me / I'm Your Fool (Purple coloured label) Good Northern/x-over dancer
  16. Just Leave Me Some / We made It - Black Ivory (Today 1524) 1973 nice modern / slightly funky dancer.
  17. Yeah, the 45 is a bag of shite...but check his album out, some great 'Northern' type dancers on it. 'Come To Baby Do' & 'Teach Your Baby How To Dance' are 2 which spring to mind!
  18. Got 105 Young Men....is this the same tune as 108?
  19. I have a brown vinyl (when held up to the light) one bought many years ago (£15) without that date stamp on the label. My mate Ian has one with the date stamp on the label bought more recently. Can anyone tell me which came first, the date stamped one or no stamp? The brown vinyl (when held up to the light) ones' which have sold for expensive amounts have NOT had the label stamp on them. Mine has superb sound tone and label is quality too. They must be tough to find?
  20. Back in the early 80's during my Skinhead revival years, me and a mate was in the local army surplus store and the guy told us he had a room at the back with records for sale. Wow! Nearly everything on Trojan / Pama was there! Albums & 45s from 1968 - 1972....must have been an original Skinhead who donated them. 45's were 25p each and the albums were £3 each, we paid for what we could and put the rest aside for a later day when we had some more money. Suffice to say, all the (now) in-demand Skinhead Reggae was in there...'Skinhead Speaks His Mind - Hot Rod All Stars' , all the Torpedo releases too. Foolishly swapped the 'Skinhead Speaks His Mind' (£300+ recently on ebay) for O'Jays 'Lipstick Traces'. Doh! Did manage to get it back off the same guy, though I had to part with some good RnB. More recently (about 8 years ago!), found a huge box of USA 45's ready for the rubbish dump, the usual Tamla/Gordy/ etc but laying right at the bottom of the pile... Embers - Watch Out Girl MGM blue/gold Issue! Nice.
  21. The Gold label, black lettering second issue from the 70's is a quality 45. The one in the scan is indeed the NEWER boot-leg green lettering. Basically it's a boot of a re-issue!!
  22. I remember Ian Clarke having one for £100 about 6 years ago! Don't suppose this helps...I'll get me coat.
  23. Bright pink & white demo's are kosher. Red one's.....
  24. Totally agree Paul. With some of the previous prices i've seen going on John's lists, this lot seem 'cheap' (for want of a better word). Maybe the pennie's dropped regarding 'overvalued' vinyl and an economic slump is on it's way! (Just like in the States). C U Saturday!
  25. Lorraine Randolph - M- £25 + £1 postage pm if interested
