  1. I paid £25 for mine but have seen it go up to £50.
  2. Russ...! The 3rd one has the Detroit map - (US Motown 45s style) on the cover don't it. I think the second one is the most in-demand, great cover (I did know who the artist was on the cover but I can't recall now ) and different style than the other 2, laminated also but the other 2 weren't. Not sure which of the 3 is the rarest though??
  3. 3 albums alltogether: TALK OF THE GRAPEVINE THIS IS NORTHERN SOUL SOUND OF THE GRAPEVINE
  4. I'm with you on that Pete!!
  5. This one is in my Reggae collection...MINT! I have 6 or 7 others with similar 'Skinhead' titles....perhaps I should sell now!!???? https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...em=110339854296
  6. I'm a cancerian! There's a hellalot of truth in what you say, especially the bit about...'99.9% not seeing the light of day just knowing they are there!'....That's certainly true of my huge collection (which takes in Ska, Reggae & 60s garage/beat) we do need help.
  7. Yes, I see your point. My point is this: Something of quality will always be a collectors item, surely? No matter what it is. Be it an antique armchair or a piece of recorded music. There's always gonna be someone who wants it in it's original form. Granted maybe not as many as now, but a rare record of good quality is always gonna sell....right? or maybe not....
  8. ...and good quality too! Well worth getting hold if if you can't afford the original.
  9. 'A rare collectable vinyl record' Rare...because there isn't that many of this particular 45 available. Collectable....because the sound therein is like nothing you've ever heard before, a beautiful song with a fantastic vocal. The beat almost physically drags you to the dance floor. A faultless piece of timeless music, the likes of will never be available again...'they just don't make them like that anymore'. There will always be a DEMAND for this....ALWAYS.
  10. Vinyl records (especially rare stuff) have been collectable for the best part of 60 years. There will ALWAYS be a demand for certain sounds be it Rock N' Roll, Ska, Soul, RnB....just look at today's groups....Kaiser Chiefs, Franz Ferdinand, White Stripes etc etc....the sound is dated back to the 1960's and so is the look. Turn radio 1 on, listen to a 'new' group and you could be back in 1966!!!!! Most of these new groups love a bit of old Soul/Motown/The Who/Small Faces and you often hear them sing their praises in interviews. My point is this, GREAT music NEVER dies...it just goes round in circles. I was talking to a 'kid' the other day (23 year old), a fan of the new 'Mod' groups and he's getting into old vinyl (which is making a 'comeback' according to the papers....I'm sure that statement comes out every year!) I think our collections are ALWAYS going to worth something, even in another 100 years. Just my opinion though.
  11. Had Hank 'Soul Man' Mullens on the original 'Audel' 45 for a few years now, great tune!
  12. About 15 years ago in Wisbech Cambs , I found a few USA 45s on a car boot for 10p each. Two of these really stood out for me, I'd never heard them before or even seen them listed anywhere. They were 'The Huns Revue' on Sorro and Donald Height 'Rags To Riches To Rags' on Honey....put them on tapes and CDs over the next few years for mates. Both have since become fairly in-demand and can command £150/200 each.
  13. Mine's a dark green one. Looks and plays fine.
  14. Hey Darryl! A big hello, especially from the UK. I don't have the Wand 45 but do have the UK L.P 'Solid Soul Sensations'. 'Name It And Claim It' is a fabulous piece of uptempo Soul (just the way the Brits loved it!) So, come on, how about a nice photo from the 60's!!?? Get a reply started in this thread, click on the 'browse' button at the bottom right hand...get your photo from your documents or wherever, click the 'upload' button then go to the 'manage current attachments' click on the green + sign and it should add the photo into the reply. I think that's right?
  15. That's Rick Astley...surely!
  16. As far as I know, only 4 off the album are L.P tracks only. These being: THAT'S WHAT LOVE IS (unless you count the UK 45 that came out about 10 years ago I suppose) I BELIEVE TO MY SOUL SOUL SUPERMAN No.2 CLAP YOUR HANDS Hope this helps. John
  17. You're not serious are you? Take a look at the TITLE of the record....'The VIAGRA Song' ....are you feeling it now?
  18. Nothing wrong with mine too.
  19. It's one of the BEST blue eyed Northern Soul records that ever came out. I still love it to bits! By the way Liam...Up The Spurs!
  20. Also available on 12".... Once it's on the decks, it just keeps going and going and going and......
  21. Thanks for the info George, much appreciated. It might not be as rare as others but this particular 45 is a good one if you like garagey type soul! (IMO)
  22. So, it's maybe pointing to the fact that this is related to the other Raven 45's we all know then. Hope so, as I'm in the process of trying to get them all....cash permitting!
  23. Is the record on Flagg a recent thing then Pete? I had no idea, really.
  24. Yes boba I tried that but it kept giving me an error message that said 'you have not got enough fees in your paypal balance to cover the refund'...which I found stupid as my missus always buys stuff using paypal via her credit card (which they have details)...so could not understand why they didn't take it from that??
  25. Thanks for that Gene, interesting about the HOS & OOS. Was the PEE WEE, CHUCK & HUEY on FLAGG (Beside Myself) from Chicago??
