  1. I know I'm a late 'cummer' (7 years!!) but here they are:
  2. I'm in the UK, I have a 45 coming from the USA. Last I heard it was in Chicago INT Distribution Center, that was on the 31st March. I just kept getting updates saying it's 'In transit to next facility'. All of a sudden updates stopped. 4 days ago I re-submitted the 'get updates' form and now getting updates again, yesterday it was in Dallas Fort Worth International Airport. Today I got this message: May 6, 2020 at 4:02 pm Departed FORT WORTH, UNITED STATES Is this a good sign?
  3. That one has the proper 'B' side 'Tomorrow Is A Long Time'.
  4. Fantastic stuff Andy, you really did dig deep. Glad I could put you in contact with Dave Paugh, I told you he would be forthcoming You have really done the group justice. Thank you for the piece. When I spoke to him he invited me over to Florida (where he, and Judy Street now reside). I may take him up on that offer one day! He finds the Northern Soul scene very intriguing, and, like you said Andy, without it these tunes would be long forgotten and never heard. Congratulations, if a job's worth doing...
  5. That's it!! And I have it...doh! Thanks for putting me out of my torment WoodButcher!!
  6. A Northern monster but I just can't remember what it is? I heard a snippet and recognised it but I can't recall who it's by or what it's called, I might even have it in my collection! Male vocal, possibly a group. First set of lyrics are: "You're leaving me baby saying goodbye, walking out of my life without telling me why. Was it something I did, was something I said, you're leaving me baby and I wish I was dead"
  7. Here's a decent photo of the band.... I guess it would be the Little Anthony & Imperials track.
  8. Just heard that Neil Griffin track, especially like the 'What Can I Do' side, could get a shout at a Northern do no probs. Don't think it's the ABC-Paramount group of labels though? Sorry for going off on a tangent.
  9. Oh, cheers for the info Graham According to the comments on the 'Oh Baby' youtube clip this Phyllis Brown is a white girl also.
  10. Years out of time but here's the group (who are also 'Sunny & Phyllis)... This group is made up of Sonny Threatt (middle back) and Phyllis Brown (seated), she scored big on the Northern scene with 'Oh Baby!'
  11. As it seems the US are banning all flights to and from(?) their country, will this affect the post coming from the States?
  12. Just to add, Rob, It did get an official UK release too, as I'm sure you are aware...
  13. I see where you looked, on discogs, but the Probe UK came out in 1973 and the ABC UK came out in 1974. So the Probe 45 is UK first press. Discogs contradicts itself, if you click on the Probe release this is what is says in the notes: The first UK release of these 1967 recordings, due to demand from the northern soul scene.
  14. Jimmy James & Vagabonds do a good version but Turley wins it for me.
  15. Yeah, that's what I've always assumed.
  16. Just wondering now if my red issue is an original?
  17. So, as I suspected the 1st UK issue is the one on Probe.
  18. Yeah, and then a little bit later someone emailed Radio 2 and asked for 'Under My Thumb' and Zoe played the Rolling Stones and said "There's another Northern Soul classic" bless her.
  19. Just for reference here's a former discussion on the topic.... https://www.soul-source.co.uk/forums/topic/93163-soul-searcher-how-many-version-which-labels/
  20. If you read the description it actually says it was a 'white labelled' copy that had water damage so I can only presume they used a photo copy for the label?
  21. Found this one from 2006, Clifford Curry on the flip...
  22. I only know of the 'Outta Sight' lookalike (but easy to tell). There seems to be one from a box set too? Alternate version? Look here... https://www.45cat.com/record/osv008
