  1. Christ! Just took a peek on there, 'Black River Circus' (nice unknown Northern/Garage thing) "Love's Gonna Carry Me"...Prices range from a mere $7 to $419..!!!!...taking in another @ $321..!!!! Wow! If you like your Northern in a 'Tempests/ Ithacas' blue-eyed garage kind of way better get the $7 one now!
  2. The owner is a bit moody, I've been banned from Gemm, all because I got billed (and paid) twice for the same record! Basically, I told my credit card who promptly addressed the balance, of course I didn't know but Gemm refunded me too. Was it my fault? No! Now I can't buy on there. But, by what you guys are saying, who cares!
  3. A couple of record shop owners I know put their BEST stuff on ebay! Little wonder nobody bothers with the record shop anymore. Want a rare record you've been after for ages...? Go on ebay. Simple as. I know, it's attitudes like this that are shutting down the record shop's but that's the way it is today I'm afraid. I hardly venture into my local record shop, his prices are o.t.t (for 'bootlegs' he knows nothing about!) and when he does get something tasty....up on ebay it goes! Pointless.
  4. Glen Campbell of 'Rhinestone Cowboy' fame?
  5. Re Vic Waters - very interesting, I recently bought 'The Ferris Wheel' L.P (Pye 1967, UK soul group) and there's a version of 'Taking Inventory' on it, absolute stormer! Must be the same track.
  6. Unbelievable!!! I have their tune on D-Town and never thought for a moment that a clip of those little guys ever existed!! The 45 has a great flip too 'What Can It Be'. I particularly liked the second clip of them when the music speeds up and they break into a dance routine....priceless! I can't believe he has passed!! He must have only been....what....early fifties? Sad news indeed.
  7. I got one knocking around, also contains 'Soul Incorporated'. Sure I got it free at a do but I just can't remember now???? Sorry
  8. Thanks for that Chalky! I have it on the 'You've Got To Earn It' CD...the first release for this tune! Loads of other great unissued tracks by the Temps. Ace booklet too!
  9. On the Stylistics album 'Heavy' is this cool tune 'She Did A Number On Me'.... funky and modern with SOUL!
  10. Unreleased mate....anywhere! CD only. Great though aint it!!!
  11. I had a similar piece luck from a work mate a couple of years back, he brought in a nice UK album copy of Marvin Gaye 'How Sweet It Is' TML 11004 (1965) and gave it to me. well chuffed!
  12. Got a nice EX+ almost M- copy for £20. Any good to you? P.M me if interested
  13. Love it de-to! Now then, with all the so called 'NORTHERN SOUL' tunes that some sellers on ebay seem to think fit into this genre (one on ebay at the moment 'Devil Woman' - Cliff Richard!!!!) it won't be long before this Paul Newman (the actor) gets one listed!!! Thanks for the clip viphitman...a nice tune. Strange I'd never heard it before as I've been into the scene 30 years!! Mind, I never went to Wigan.
  14. Always wondered about this tune, and as I've never heard it....is it THE Paul Newman!!???
  15. Great flip too on the Amanda Humphrey!! I paid about £25 for a minter ($40 from a guy in the States on Delcampe auction site) a few years back. Love it!
  16. Was in the charts about 4 months back!! Got fairly high I think. My wife has their album, some 60's influenced tracks on there.
  17. Can't seem to hear the track? It says free download but then they want £50????? I'd like to hear it though...
  18. Not rare, nice pop/soul version of Jackie Edwards original also released in the UK on Island (1965).
  19. ...can't remember now, think it was an early 70's male thing.
  20. I do have an emi disc of this. Does that count?
  21. I had a bad deal with this guy (Mamie Giattino) a couple of years back. What I really couldn't understand was the fact the he actually sent me a letter asking me to drop my paypal claim and then he'll post the records!! Why didn't he just post the bloody records instead of wasting time (and a stamp) on a letter that I just ignored anyway. He then un-registered from ebay and I never got a penny back. Luckily I paid with my credit card so I got a refund off my credit card company. Loser.
  22. I suppose after the success that the Spencer Davis Group had with Jackie's 'Keep On Running', Mr Fontana thought he might try his hand at one of Jackie's tunes. Not a bad effort really.
  23. Just played your last 'clip' Pete...Wayne Fontana...well I never!!!!
  24. Well, the 'Magic' label (bootleg from about 1969) had the Jackie Edwards 'Feel So Bad' but had an original Island UK stamp on the run out (WI 3006). As collectable as the 'Soul Sounds' series too!
  25. If you look at his listing for Eddie Ray Greg he quotes 'Alt take'.....so I guess that's a recent press.
