  1. I'll give it another week, then if it doesn't turn up by next Saturday I'll e-mail you the details. Thanks for your help.
  2. I don't know, they haven't sent me a tracking number. It was on discogs with a 'make offer' note so I made an offer (10 euro cheaper) and I got a message from them saying "I'll accept offer if we do it away from discogs" and they wanted paypal f&f. They did charge me 9 euro postage! They was only charging 7 euro on discogs! Cheek. Obviously I'm a bit suspect now!
  3. I've been waiting on one from Belgium, been 4 weeks now! I paid Paypal via f&f, I used my debit card (Visa) so am I still covered if it all goes tits up?
  4. Thanks for that Blackpool! That Groov-U album looks good, in fact I've just purchased it! Blue-eyed Soul for sure, there's a version of the Temptations 'I Want A Love I Can See'. That's Peckman back row 5th from right in thick glasses I guess. I wouldn't be surprised if some of the Contrails are in that line-up too, they finished in 1969, this album came out at that time.
  5. As Chalky says, also we know the saxophonist was a white guy as recalled by Simon T (who seems to have had all his posts removed?).
  6. That's half of it solved then, Peckman definitely one half of Mike & Ike, it also states that fact here... https://www.pghcitypaper.com/pittsburgh/robert-peckmans-stirrin-up-bees-features-blue-eyed-soul-legend-johnny-daye/Content?oid=1335088 Quote: Robert Peckman may not be a household name, even in R&B circles, but his work certainly is. As a multi-instrumental go-to guy, he spent decades with the likes of the Skyliners, the Jaggerz, Pure Gold and Hoodoo Drugstore. Peckman was also half of the Billboard charting duo called Q, and part of Mike & Ike, whose solitary Arctic Records single from the '60s still gets plays on the northern-soul scene.
  7. According to 45cat: Mike & Ike 1965 Contrails 1967 (although the Contrails piece i linked dates it as 1966, for the flip anyway)
  8. That's brilliant, a step further. Thank you, Simon.
  9. Yeah, when I googled Mike & Ike I got a lot of images of these sweets So they could be the Contrails anyway?
  10. Who were Mike & Ike on Arctic? Anyone know, got any photos of them? There is a connection to the 'The Contrails', a blue-eyed Soul outfit from Pittsburgh as their Northern tune 'I'd Rather Be Lonely' shares the same backing as Mike & Ike's 'Sax On The Tracks (I'd Rather Be Lonely)'. When you listen to Mike & Ike's vocal side 'Ya Ya' they could be white, possibly? Here's a bit about The Contrails but no mention of 'I'd Rather Be Lonely' as they were pushing the beat ballad flip... https://oldmonmusic.blogspot.com/2008/02/someone.html
  11. I agree, a blue-eyed soulstress. I've always thought that, despite obviously thinking it was Chris at first.
  12. Of course, Connie could be a fella. Just putting it out there..... Connie McGill & The Visions
  13. Mods: Apologies, I see this has already been discussed. Please delete.
  14. Might be worth a watch. Richard Searling: A big tick for the Northern Soul community is coming up soon. Nationally broadcast on TV across all English regions. 30 minutes of fine music and a heart-warming story for viewers in every town, city and village. Wednesday May 27th BBC One 7.30pm-8pm.
  15. I've even been through ALL the youtube vids of it as sometimes they throw up info, family members commenting (you can learn a lot from these vids) but nothing, nada, zilch! I still think she could be of caucasian descent.
  16. The thing I found with that bloody facebook is unless you're friends with them, any messages sent get hidden in the 'message requests' box and the recipient doesn't get a notice. So, unless she goes into her message request box she may never see your question. Frustrating! Fingers crossed, Chalky.
  17. If this is the case then she wasn't an Ikette? Like most people, I thought it was Chris Clark, but I wouldn't be surprised if she's a blue-eyed soulstress.
  18. Cannot find this one. What issue/page is it on?
  19. Well it turned up, unfortunately it was the WRONG bleeding record!!
