  1. Great taste Baz! I remember when the missus went and I was on my own for a while, listening to this really did tug at my heart strings and left me feeling sorry for myself. Quality tune, the Nolan Chance version on 'Thomas' is great too.
  2. I concur!
  3. The re-issue 'put out by the artist himself a few years back' according to this: https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/RUFUS-WONDER-UNDER-THE-MOON-GR8-NORTHERN-SOUL-LISTEN_W0QQitemZ130371211811QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Records?hash=item1e5abad223
  4. Elkie Brookes, now there's a record that has surprised me over the years. When I got it I thought WOW what a tune! But it's fairly unknown and I've never heard it out or seen it listed, it doesn't even feature in Manship's UK price guide. I'd let my copy go (ex) but not for peanuts, I really don't know what it's worth as there's very little documented about it on the soul scene. Make me an offer if you like. John
  5. I put in $100, thought maybe it would clean up nice.
  6. Just realised it's from DETROIT(?)...there's another by him backed by the Motor City Orchestra on Setting Sun! ....or perhaps it's not the same guy?
  7. Well, I like quirky NS tunes + I like Johnny Cash (an uncanny likeness!) + I think the backing is tremendous! Reckon I got a bargain
  8. Love it! A quick search on ebay threw up NOTHING! Then straight onto Gemm and managed to bag the only one on offer for $15!!!
  9. The name of the group is actually 'The Lost Soul' and are different to the group on Glasco who are called 'The Lost Souls'
  10. Looks very similar to the one's on some 'Atlantic' 45s?
  11. This has been discussed in depth (almost!) on another thread from last year I think. Me and Pottsy think the Soultown release is a legit copy, mainly because of the stamp (thanks 45cellar) and the different cut of 'LCBM'.
  12. Sure I had it by a US white pop group? Lovin' Spoonful or someone??
  13. 'Expedit' from Ikea. About £60 and well worth it!!! This one has 16 'cubes' and in white Or put it on it's side....this one has 8 'cubes' and in dark brown (about £30)
  14. Reckon they are worth having to a collector who only collects UK releases, there's a lot of these that were never released on a UK 45 in the 1960's so it's the first outing on a UK label. I always feel that if you are a genuine UK collector, you should be buying these 45s NOW before they disappear and start to fetch bigger cash. The Johnny Sayles on 'Soul City' 'Tell Me (Where I Stand)' is a previously unissued tune...and a corker! Well worth owning IMHO
  15. A Garage 45? Just an excuse to ask....who's the fit bird in the photo? Nice arse!
  16. Oh Baz! Completely agree with you on the Larks' 'Come Back Baby'...wonderful record! I recently got Bobby Angelle's 'It's Just Gotta Be That way'....what a corker!!
  17. Wearing a Brutus in 1979....
  18. Nothing to worry about mate, they're just not using Paypal's postal service. They will be using the standard US postal service instead.
  19. That's Mr. Crosby for ya!!
  20. Just as I thought Mick, reckon it could well be the 'Willie & Mighty Magnificents' track. If it is the 'Springers'....then WOW! I'll have to grab a better listen and then play a Springers tune to compare the vocals.
  21. It's great and on a Stang 45, total out and out Northern.
  22. Definitely unissued previously. This is the only official way to get it on vinyl 45. I have a copy and it's great!!
  23. Found it and it's in really nice cond (EX+). As you can see from the scans it's a demo. It doesn't have a shiny label like my other Atlantic labels and is a pinkish colour rather than deep red....??? Any good to you mate? Let me know.
  24. ...with the superb 'Why Is It Taking So Long' on the flip!! I have a copy somewhere, I'll dig it out and have a look at it for you ok.
