  1. Not Julian Covey on the flip but the original (non duet) version Pete. Interesting that the 'Magic' boot has the WI (Island) UK stamp in the run out.
  2. The the exact one that initially came to my mind too! Absolutey dire!

That's reminded me, what's actually happened to this magazine? Last one I got was #11....ages ago. Has it ceased?
  4. Tommy Frontera - You're My Leading Lady - Hi-Lite....absolutely shagged! Some idiot tried 'skimming' it and the sound quality is almost in-audible. Should have posted it back but it was cheap as chips so what did I expect really!!!
  5. On a similar vein, I got a 'Nancy Sinatra' E.P (1966) on Reprise yesterday, 2 tracks off it could be played on the scene....'Run For Your Life' and 'It Aint Me'...very Motowny Oh, plus she was gorgeous!
  6. Bought nearly a whole collection of 'Shades Of Soul' quite a few years back now for £70....well worth it! Think I got them from someone on here??? Definitely my favourite of all those 'fanzine' style mags.
  7. How right you are Johnny!! I recall seeing a 'Mod' for the very first time standing on the steps outside the YMCA on my first alldayer venture, must have been late '78 or early '79. He had a Blue Beat hat on and looked really cool! I also remember them playing 'Al Capone' by Prince Buster that day too! Think the Tiny who you refer to was known as 'Tiny K' and he was the local D.J who had his own disco set and did other pop nights and disco's around the area. In fact he always used to claim that he introduced 'Northern Soul' to King's Lynn!!!
  8. Great atmospheric instrumental, would go down a storm if it was readily available. Ridiculous price though!
  9. There's also 'Mo Gorilla' on another of their Cortland 45's (115), it's the flip of 'Feeling Of A Kiss', it's in my box somewhere. Also 'Go Go Gorilla' on another of their releases. Guess the 'Gorilla' sold well for them?
  10. Me too! Paid the same amount for the easier to get demo about 7 years ago now!
  11. Yeah, Monitors on the flip side of the 7" bootleg Steve. Red label 'Soul Beat' I think? I got a copy somewhere.
  12. ...or is that one 'Don't Be Half Safe' ?????
  13. Think there's another version by Maurice Williams on Deesu.
  14. I'm sure the copy I've got is a much lighter blue than the two you are holding Dave, and I always thought mine was a boot. Nice cigar!
  15. Recently picked up the Chevrons 'Love, I Love You' on MMC (first label) for £16...a bargain, so decided to sell my Independence labelled one (mint) on ebay. It books at nigh on £100. A great Blue-Eyed romper stomper of a tune and I really thought this would go for at least £50/60 but only got £23 for it!! ...are prices down on this tune? Thought it was picking up spins?
  16. Still trying to work out where he got... 'Where Have All The Flowers Gone' by R.Dean Taylor on Motown...from?
  17. The Pye 'Disco Demand' one? That means it's an original UK release then ....sort of
  18. I concur with everyone else (so far!)...looking good!
  19. Two popular tunes at the time back to back on a acetate, definitely made for the Northern Soul crowd and cut from vinyl 45's onto a plate. Value....not sure but you won't retire on it!!
  20. So what's this all about???? https://cgi.ebay.co.u...=item45f2a5fdaf
  21. That Nancy Sinatra L.P 'Boots'....absolute epitome of 1960's album covers! Love it, been after a copy myself for ages but only for the cover, only want to pay car boot price, that's probably where i'll eventually get one!
  22. 'Gerry & Paul' were the nucleus of the Fatback band.
  23. What about 'The Chevrons - Love, I Love You'....what a piece of pounding blue-eyed soul!!! Never heard that out, but it must have got a few plays, it's brilliant!
  24. I'd say gotta be £40 for a standard UK issue....demo not sure?
