  1. Only just found out about this book...right up my street! Just purchased a copy, can't wait.
  2. Lee Perry - Never Get Weary (Island UK) Pete Smith James Brown - Don't Be A Drop Out (King) stomp! Don Drummond - Cleopatra (Port O Jam) re-press Swing Easy - Various (Coxsone UK) LP
  3. Yes, is yours the standard UK Upsetter label (orange/blue/white)? Mine is a Jamaican white label with blue Upsetter print and 'Manufactured in Kingston, Jamaica'
  4. If you're looking for a minter then I am not your man. Here's my copy, got a lot of surface marks but plays great. Click to enlarge. Ignore the vertical line, that's on the scanner. £25 + £2 postage
  5. Yeah, I got one ages ago on a boot fair but mine had a UK Trojan laminated sleeve and a Jamaican Upsetter labelled record??? And it's 'Soul Rebels'....young?...you're thinking of the group LOL.
  6. I have a copy somewhere, I'll dig it out and let you know condition ok.
  7. Yes, just remembered, there is an orange 'Up Look' re-issue with DOS (ICRB) on one side and Charles Mintz 'Give A Man A Break' on the other side. I also have the picture sleeve with ICRB but can't remember the flip.
  8. Is that the previously 'unissued' tune that came out with a picture sleeve several years back?
  9. George Dekker - Pardon / Rub It Up (flip is Pioneers from 1969/70)
  10. Ken Boothe - Is It Because I'm Black Del Davis - Baby Don't Wake Me Maytals - Johnny Cool Man
  11. Maytals - Louie Louie. The flip has 'Pressure Drop '72' that is now fairly in-demand as it wasn't released anywhere else. Also, off the top of my head, Nicky Thomas 'Doing The Moonwalk' which is a nice 1970 Skinhead tune. Dave & Ansel Collins - Ton Up Kids
  12. 'Enthucol' on ebay has Blue Beat re-issues of 'Supercharge' (actually by the Skatalites).
  13. Does it play badly then Frank?
  14. Great info Premium Stuff, much appreciated. I got my copy (with 2 'J's) from Soul Bowl years back for £25. One of the best purchases from there. Great track
  15. I can't see that, pretty sure they are both spelt with the double 'j' Majjestees.... Also, look closer, I think you'll see the re-issue has the ridge too.
  16. Re-issue Original Can't see any difference in the spelling, just a different shade of green.
  17. Agree with Pete, gold one has great sound quality, a good 70's pressing that is fairly sought after....but not over £100!!!!!
  18. Yes booted in the 70's on S.P.Q.R, gold label if I remember rightly.
  19. I got my copy straight off Al Wilkes, he signed the sleeve. I'm pretty sure he told me that was the last one, this was a few years back! He owns a Tennis racket Store I believe. Good luck in your search Jed. Johnny
  20. I would say mine was EX- but grading is not one of my strong points. Slight pen mark on 'B' side label, very small. Here is a scan for you to judge yourself. The scan is b/w but the record label is actually a flesh/pink colour. Ignore the straight line through picture, that is actually on the scanner. click to enlarge
  21. Great blue-eyed Philly group. Flip side is great too. Manship has one for sale.
  22. Yes, plum (or a sort of brownish!) is the first issue.Never seen any white demos.
  23. 'I'm Gone' Kev
  24. Found it. Like I said, almost mint. Bought from Soul Bowl years ago, played a couple of times and filed away. Black issue.
