No, different song, it should actually be titled 'My Baby Doesn't Change Like The Weather' and it is by The Mayfield Singers, it is a superb piece of Northern Soul. EDIT: Look it up it is on you tube.

Agree, fantastic record! So is the flip. EDIT: hang on, there's one with instr flip which I presume is the first release, then another issued by 'Outta Sight' with 'My Baby Changes Like The Weather' (not the Motown tune).

Some Northern Soul really does stand the test of time and would fit in a treat on some 20 year old's i-pod but there are some that can sound very dated indeed. There's nothing like a good raw soulful vocal and it is still used very much in today's music.

I notice the 'Mod' look seems a bit trendy these days with young people and that goes back to the early 1960's!!!. I guess everything is trendy in it's own way, even 'geeky chic' like me I notice in your avatar that you are fairly young? so you will be more of a target for 'old fashioned' criticism by your young mates. I do know that Soul will always be trendy be it old or contemporary.

Truth is, nowadays all the big traditional 60's Northern dancers are only really being discovered in the vaults on unreleased tapes then being released by the likes of Kent etc.

My missus got their album (sorry, CD) for Christmas off one of our daughters. I think they are a great band, the two tunes they played (performed on Jools' later show before) are great. The guitarist who's usually on the right pulls some right funny faces!

Yeah, I picked up the 2nd one from a charity shop back in the very early 80's, I remember being well chuffed as it was probably the first time I saw something written about the original Skinheads apart from in my 2-Tone mags/fanzines. -

....mind, it's wierd that Motown used the 'Inferno' logo on that realease, you'd have thought they'd just put the Volumes on Gordy or something. I mean Fantastic Four got put on Soul. Maybe they just liked the 'Inferno' name? EDIT: Is that the only Inferno release after Motown purchased them? It's the only one I've seen.

Quite right too Chalky. The later Inferno release with the Motown address I featured in a Motown Compilation CD, the earlier red Inferno releases I wouldn't even think of it
