  1. Why the UK one? Is there a different track than on the US one (which I have)?
  2. According to sources (Manship's I think?) yes, this is correct. Mine is like that but more brown than grey and I paid £15 about 20 years ago.
  3. First one that springs to my mind... 'How Can I Forget - Joey Dee & The New Starlighters' Think the Starlighters are an early incarnation of the 'Young Rascals'..
  4. It was Fantastic Four (Goddess Of Love) but looks like he has that one as he's edited his post
  5. Exactly Pete! H.B.Barnum 'Heartbreaker' got re-issued on UK Capitol again, on orange Capitol with 'Searching For My Soul' on the flip, perhaps this one came before the red one coupled with Bobby Paris? EDIT: Just realised, this orange one is the first UK 45 release, right? 70's label design, 60's recording.
  6. This is another legal re-issue although the seller states original.... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/171218290030?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649#ht_44wt_989
  7. The one that went for £17 on ebay, you sure it wasn't a repro of the small 45 re-issue? That just seems fairly cheap as the kosher re-issue small 45 goes for a bit more than that.
  8. Never heard 'Springtime' before, I can see it's appeal. Great tune.
  9. If you listen to his LP on RCA, he mentions that he is in regular contact with Smokey Robinson and they are good friends. Blue-eyed Soulster 100%
  10. H.B.Barnum. Chuck Jackson Yarmouth Weekender, 1990 All the acts were great but these two stood out for me. Can't remember seeing J.J.Barnes, must have missed his performance....
  11. Tough one! I actually managed to get hold of the 70's Studio One re-press with the brilliant 'Dinah' Joe Higgs & Soul Brothers on the flip, not easy to find either.
  12. Ha, well at least you're spared all that 'dog barking', actually someone making the barking noises (Lee?) and bottles smashing!!
  13. Ooh, nice blue-eyed garage/northern thing. Thought I was the only person who knew it! Flip is great too.
  14. LOL...That's because I don't have it and was thinking of 'Sufferer' which is on Big Shot. I remember Tipper (sure you know him Pete? Simon) saying he had a spare copy of 'Hold Down' for me NC £30....he never did get round to selling it to me, it was just as they were shooting up in price! Reckon he had second thoughts 'Hold Down' is on the 'A Gift From pama' L.P (got mine at a car boot for £1 in the 90's) I have 'Sic Him Rover' on a JA blank too, bit crackly,
  15. Brilliant L.P. In my collection. 'Hold Down' must be one of the best 'Boss' tunes out there! bloody expensive on a 45 though (Big Shot). 'Sufferer' is a long term fave, remember when I first heard it off the Tighten Up - volume 2 l.p back in 1979 as me and some mates were just getting into the Skinhead look, managed to find a copy on 45, lovely tune. Oh the memories....
  16. Some bright spark will climb on top of it with skates on...
  17. Don't know Seb, just going by what the write up that Dave posted says....
  18. Bruce Springsteen performs 'Gino Is A Coward' at some of his concerts!!??? Weird.
  19. No, different song, it should actually be titled 'My Baby Doesn't Change Like The Weather' and it is by The Mayfield Singers, it is a superb piece of Northern Soul. EDIT: Look it up it is on you tube.
  20. Agree, fantastic record! So is the flip. EDIT: hang on, there's one with instr flip which I presume is the first release, then another issued by 'Outta Sight' with 'My Baby Changes Like The Weather' (not the Motown tune).
  21. We are talking about the Detroit guy aren't we? Not the other GENO Washington.
