  2. Think he's saying it won't sell, Mike.
  3. It really does only seem an Oxfam thing! There's some other good 60's L.P's in there, R Stones, Kinks etc all at high prices. Other charity shops are a lot cheaper but they don't seem to get the records Oxfam get?
  4. Anyone want an original UK Tamla Motown L.P of Bobby Taylor 'Taylor Made Soul'? Well there's one in my local Oxfam charity shop for....wait for it.....£80! Now I know this is a fairly rare L.P but whatever happened to charity shop bargains?
  5. I have an Arctic 45 by Harold Melvin & The Bluenotes in a Jamie/Guyden sleeve, bought straight from the states like that (from Craig Moerer I think).
  6. Supremes covered it? Or was it the other way around?
  7. Always wondered what they sing. I hear: At the top of the stairs there's darkness, I'm afraid of that shadow of lonliness, at the top of the stairs there's darkness, my life is not based on happiness Just a room that is haunted, my life has been sadly taunted, a life so full of sorrow, forever, today and tomorrow Can someone please put the full lyrics up?
  8. I have the L.P on UK Liberty - 'Super Drums' (1966)
  9. A bit of a Mod classic according to the book 'A New Religion'...
  10. Neptunes - House of Broken Hearts... outdone by Hal Hardy
  11. A bit late, sorry, but I just found a Jewel Gospel 45 on 'Lewis' subsidary label by 'The Fabulous Gospel Allstars' - Travelling On / Heavy Load. Any good to you?

  13. About 20 years ago I bought this Jimmy Cliff Ska 45 described as 'writing on label'...... Imagine my surprise when I turned it upside down to find Jimmy's signature!!
  14. I have a couple. Here's a message to some kid named James, 1960's...
  15. It was fairly expensive, then a load turned up. No boots, just like John say's, slight different labels but I'm not sure if it's a different mix? Think some have an address on and some don't but they are NOT bootlegs.
  16. Any sleeves you need? I got a few Aussie sleeves 1960's...
  17. Ska, Rocksteady & Reggae!!! ...and from the good old USA...1960's garage. ...From the UK Mod/beat/psych When you really sit down and think about it though, not many of the above would exist if not for Soul!
  18. Great flip too! I have the vinyl one you want, I'll dig it out later and get back to you ok.
  19. Recently purchased this... Lloyd & Randolph - It Ain't (Duke) UK re-press (flip of Bob Melody - The Break) Originally released on Coxsone UK as 'Larry & Alvin - Your Cheating Heart' 1968 Had me in tears thinking about someone years ago that put me through shit, one line goes "I'm out of the dark 'cos I see the sunshine, now I know I'm over you"....I remember waking up one Sunday morning in my mum's house, feeling better than I had done for months, I sat on her balcony, the sun was shining and I felt like my old self again. I think I got emotional because I was D.J'ing a couple of weeks back in my local pub and she walked in with a couple of her mates, I hadn't seen her for years. She stared at me all night but I stayed away, the next day I got a 'friend request' on facebook. No chance. It's such an emotive song, very, very soulful indeed. The power of music!
