  1. Micky Murray......I want one!, how much and what label?
  2. Available as a 45 on Washpan for around a tenner. Proper licenced issue!
  3. Been lovin' this guy lately, 'The Mellow Mellow Leon Haywood' (Galaxy) l.p came in the post today...fabulous album containing the track on this thread plus his Northern anthems 'Baby Reconsider' and 'Aint No Use'....plus a great non Northern 45 'I'm Gonna Wait For You'....quality!
  4. The Soul City..... you got great taste jumpinjoan!!!! Flip is excellent too used to be cheap(ish) £30 but try getting one for that now!!! Monster waiting to happen...

    Good variety!
  6. I got a copy and seen it listed quite high...think it is fairly rare. Nice slab of R&B/early Soul.

Janie Grant (Walsh?)....great double sider! Sometimes see it for a good wad then other occasions £20 ish, what's the real deal on this then?. Once saw it for bids on clarkie's list!
  8. This album also features the Tymes l.p only version of Dan Folger's 'The Way Of The Crowd'.
  9. Love this!!!!
  10. Did exactly the same thing! Only it was me on the chair!...record was Velvelettes on I.P.G, on the same day I knocked a pile of CDs onto a pile of 45s and they cracked the top one clean in half...that one was Willie & Handjives - I Gotta Find A New Girl (Veep) The next record in the pile which survived was...Falcons!!! Me and you Dan got a lot in common!!!! My mate 'lost' a 45 and it did turn up a couple of months later lodged in the boot of his car....so don't despair Paul.

Re- 'Getting Ready For The Heartaches' flip of James Shorter......anyone heard the version by Luscious Broom on Tru-Soul?, great!!!
  12. Who dat den?
  13. Likewise with those two, only difference is... seen Vows for £70 and Detroit Emeralds for £60 fairly recently and I know the D.Emeralds went! Paid £50 for my Vows too, around 5 years ago and £20 for D.emeralds about 8 years ago from Soul Bowl!

Sax break in Eddie Holland's monstrous 'I'm On The Outside Looking In'..... ditto Edwin Starr's 'My Kind Of Woman'. For a pure 100% 'NorthernSoul' break, check out Robie Porter's 'That's The Way Love Goes' on MGM. If someone asks "what's Northern Soul", play them the break on that! Whilst on the subject...if only Marv Johnson's 'With All That's In Me' had that brilliant piano intro half way through... it would be double the price it is now!!!
  15. What an absolute fascinating read! Straight from the heart and 'telling it like it is'. Don't think i've ever read such an in-depth and truer account of the scene! Well done Kimasii... John
  16. Nice one Dan!!!...took the words right out of my mouth
  17. nice piece of R&B! What's the label?
  18. It WAS booted (but not on original label) in the early 80's It was backed with Bobby Bland 'Shoes'. Think the label was 'Moon Dust' and I know i've got one knocking around somewhere. Agree with Baz, looks pretty good....but a bit shiny, if seller say's it's a re-issue (or boot!!!) then presume it must be, in that case not worth £40+ what he's asking for it! There are several new lookalikes of other stuff turned up recently (Chuck Corby, Five Royals etc).
  19. Great version of ...Adams Apples was it? Love that groove(y) organ! Is this an Aussie copy then?
  20. Think they are going for a lot more than £50 now, sure I saw one on a list for double that! Great record!
  21. I got caught out, bought a 'light green' Incredibles 'there's nothing else to say baby' under the assumption that it was original (seller even stated this fact!)....even Manship's guide to bootlegs has conflicting answers, it actually say's "boots are an olive green" and originals are 'light green' which this was.... ...still turned out to be a boot though!!! Luckily I only paid £27 and not £79 like the Washpan eventually went for!!! If buying from a Uk buyer you have to be very careful as most of the 70s boots are over here, you're more likely to get an original from a USA seller (but not always, especially with newer stuff).
  22. Twiggy eh?
  23. white vinegar is the stuff, guaranteed!
