Secured that red/yellow 'Case Of Tyme' off that shop in Norwich. By the way Pete, same shop sold me a Moses Smith (Girl Across...) deffo original for £7. Sorry Ken, white one's same as scan....but who really ever knows? It's a great recording and styrene/label is perfect.

P.m'd you Ken, running time on mine is 3.15 and looks kosher!

Ok, ok...what about my copy then. Got it around 15 years ago (can't remember where)... white label L-1001, black lettering, styrene stick on label, ZTSC - 148638 scratched in the run out groove, credited to 'Case Of Time' ...LEDGEND logo across the top (in black) and not down the side. Demo copy then? Shop in Norwich has the yellow one with red LEDGEND for sale as a boot.

Just got Lee Rogers' - 'Sock some love power / The same things that make you laugh' on Premium Stuff, paid quite a bit for it....have to say it's a fantastic double sider. Only problem is when it arrived I thought it looked a bit snyde,....was it ever booted? I can't see no details regarding it in Manship's bootleg guide and it's never turned up in any bootleg lists of stuff so could just be my imagination! Compared it to other Premium Stuff 45's and it's a slightly different shade of yellow, plus it has a lot of dead wax in the run out groove...it's not stamped but that means nothing with a lot of stuff. Do you or anyone have an original?

Another great tune by The Magnificent Men which IS available on a Capitol 45 is 'I've Got News'....look out for it! Uptempo out and out Northern. Hey, Sebastian, I notice you're using a Wheelsville 45 as your signature badge, just reminded me...I recently picked up Lee Rogers' - 'How Are You Fixed For Love' also on Wheelsville...been collecting/attending for 25 years and never heard it before, what an absolute f****ing Detroit stormer!

Think it may be the same seller who tried to fleece me for $15 postage for 1 single 45. I e-mailed him and told him I usually pay between $5/7, he then reduced it to $12....tight arse! Craig Moerer can do it for $3.50!

Little Dion had two 45s on RCA both produced by H.B.barnum, all 4 sides are brilliant Northern Soul backing, sadly his twee 5 year old voice ruins them! The Lil' Soul Brothers - Heartaches / If This Is Love - Wheelsville / D-Town Now this is great! Anything else by them? I love em'.

I see 'Frank Foster & L.A Untouchables - My Assurance' is in the book, not well known at all and some people don't really go a bundle on it...personally I love it! I paid/traded about £80 for it several years ago so was surprised to see it in there.I would'nt let it go, it's one of my favourites.I know there's another version by Lee Harvey, but I love the rawness of Frank's.

Great harmonies, i've been collecting their stuff recently...got the other one on RCA (The Hurt) and a good stomper on Soul-o. There's another one by them on Soul-o & Date called 'S.O.S Heart In Distress' which is quite pricey...don't know it but will buy if I see it. Think they are a blue eyed group...not the same black group who had releases on Althia (early 70's). Shall now be looking out for that one on RCA!

Yeah, a mate of mine has been after it since I played it to him and he's struggling to find one. Talking to a d.j in Spalding a month ago we both asked him what tunes he was after....first reply was 'Invitations - Watch Out Little Girl'....we just looked at each other and grinned. Great stomper in the traditional style with a lovely piano riff throughout, 101% Northern Soul.

I said a few months back on here (in a thread about up and coming cheapies) that this has a great sound. One on ebay went today for £144.00! I know a few people after it too....is it worth that much? I paid £39 (and did see it a few months before that for £25 on a list) about 4 months back off ebay and must admit to never hearing it before, bought it blind cos' it sounded like it could be a good un' and was really pleased when it hit my decks, I was so chuffed I e-mailed the ebayer who sold it to me to thank him personally. Anyone else love it?

I'll ask the old man next time I see him about the Lyceum Ballroom. Prince Buster used a UK band on his UK tours, one band he has used were the 'Les Dawson Band' I kid you not, but obviously not the comedian! On the 45s recorded in Jamaica his backing band were the brilliant 'Buster's All Stars' who had some of the Skatalites musicians involved also that's why they sound 100 times better. 'Buster's All Stars' instrumentals (loads available on Blue Beat) are top notch, especially from the 1965-66 period and fetch huge wonga.

There's a vocal version somewhere, you can be sure of that! Look out for it on one of those Goldmine/Soul Supply/Kent CDs of unissued Detroit stuff....come to think of it, can't recall anybody doing a CD of RIC-TIC stuff...issued or unissued, suppose it's because Motown own the rights....think it's Spectrum who release the Motown CDs. Bastards aint got no time for RIC-TIC, just reissues of 'Baby Love' et all.

Look at the ads underneath for CDs....Johnny Maestro!!!!

A mate of mine recently bought 2 Madonna demo/promotional vinyl albums for £40 each....(from our local record store), sold the first one on ebay for £120, listed the second one straight after and Ebay snatched it off! I guess the 'Not For Sale' really does mean something then!

Sounds great don't it! Obviously instrumental is not Detroit Emeralds, more than likely be San Remo Strings or Al Kent Orchestra....sounds a lot like 'Festival Time'.

Absolute class tune..but, take a listen to the flip 'Graduation Goodbye' (as on my Pearce copy)....absolute shite! Just goes to show the diversity of some of these groups, one side brilliant Northern Soul, the other side pop pap! Wonder what the official 'A' side was?...the crap side no doubt! Jeez, no wonder they never had any hits.
