  1. Hesitations - Soul Superman (Kapp) Freddy Butler - With A Dab Of Soul (Kapp) Temptations - With A Lot O'Soul (Gordy) Leon Haywood - It's Got To Be Mellow (Decca) Leon Haywood - The Mellow Mellow (Galaxy)........
  2. Yeah, got that on Atlantic a few years back for £30. Great tune, so is his cheapie on Phil-LA - Soul - 'Love Is Alright' (same as Jesse James rarity).
  3. I've got a copy Alan, it's the flip of 'Choo Choo Ska'. Great soulful mid-tempo/beat ballad, i've been championing it for a while now. Glad someone else has picked up on it! John
  4. Also came out as blank white label...bootleg just like those unissued Motown jobs.
  5. Try and get them on here in the next couple of days ok Pete. John
  6. It's not rare...just in-demand. I've had it twice on red /silver writing, saw the orange one (styrene) for the first time on ebay the other day so that must be harder to get. Guess the white demo is hard too. Like I said, it's not a rare record, it's on ebay every week, just like Soul Brothers Six. In-demand. Check out 'When Your Love Has Gone'...another great one from the man!
  7. Home made jobbies Pete, I can send em' to you if you're interested?
  8. Well said Si, is that Bobby Hutton the UK ABC thingy with Willie Hutch on the flip?
  9. S'pose you can say the same thing about 'My Heart Is Calling'...only ever released (officially anyway) as a 45 on the re-issue of 'Because Of You' (around 3 years ago by expansion on Brunswick lookalike label?)...definitely worth getting for 'My Heart Is Calling' and can be placed in your originals only box!
  10. --> QUOTE(C.B @ Aug 29 2006, 07:40 AM) link For those interested in ska & reggae; Prince Buster used almost the same backing track for his killer "Earthquake" tune. Even had the same guitar intro. I'm gonna check that P.Buster track out! Bought the album 'Wanted One Soul Singer' just for that track! Cost me £40.
  11. I know it Pete, and I like it...it's Jackie Opel on Rio, think I stuck it on one of my 'Jamaican Soul' CDs. Sounding very much like Chuck Jackson's / Pearlene Grey 'I Don't Want To Cry'.....
  12. You're right Mr. T...I just saw a scan of an original issue and it does say that at the bottom of the label. Anyway, the delta number scratched in the run out groove is 103641,so suggests it's a 70's release according to Manship's delta table. Whatever, it's a great pressing and must be worth a few bob in the least! Anyone else got a copy of these white ones?
  13. Well, that was quick Pete...going back a couple of days ago (re- that shop in Norwich)...guess where I picked it up? In the racks as a boot @ £8! It's not stamped though, is a boot then?
  14. Na, you tell him Pete, you're good at it! And while we're on the subject, look at my thread i've just posted on Lenny Curtis.... ??????
  15. Had this several years and I know it's a boot / re-issue but just been on popsike and one went for £72 a couple of years back! Is it a legal re-issue? It's on styrene with stick on label and sound quality is superb...when were they released? Any info glady appreciated. TIA John
  16. Brilliant previously unissued! was it only on the L.P or did it come out as a 45? and..., are they the Funk Brothers?
  17. The one on Larry O is available @ www.soulspinner.com well, it was last week anyway. John
  18. quote name='Dave Moore' date='Aug 17 2006, 11:59 PM' post='334078'] It's basically anything that is vintage 60s I'm interested in. I live amongst the US record fairs etc and can pick upmost of the regular stuff but the Jamie Guyden FULL RED one has eluded me. If you have any doubles or when you're at Tim's come across anything "hard" that you already have I'd appreciate a knock Mate. Regards, Dave
  19. Secured that red/yellow 'Case Of Tyme' off that shop in Norwich. By the way Pete, same shop sold me a Moses Smith (Girl Across...) deffo original for £7. Sorry Ken, white one's same as scan....but who really ever knows? It's a great recording and styrene/label is perfect.
  20. P.m'd you Ken, running time on mine is 3.15 and looks kosher!
  21. Ok, ok...what about my copy then. Got it around 15 years ago (can't remember where)... white label L-1001, black lettering, styrene stick on label, ZTSC - 148638 scratched in the run out groove, credited to 'Case Of Time' ...LEDGEND logo across the top (in black) and not down the side. Demo copy then? Shop in Norwich has the yellow one with red LEDGEND for sale as a boot.
  22. Well, after the strength of the first issue, i'll definitely be getting issue 2. Well done! John
  23. I always thought Ray was of a lighter shade too! Didn't he have a Northern tune with 'I've Been Hurt'?
  24. Just got Lee Rogers' - 'Sock some love power / The same things that make you laugh' on Premium Stuff, paid quite a bit for it....have to say it's a fantastic double sider. Only problem is when it arrived I thought it looked a bit snyde,....was it ever booted? I can't see no details regarding it in Manship's bootleg guide and it's never turned up in any bootleg lists of stuff so could just be my imagination! Compared it to other Premium Stuff 45's and it's a slightly different shade of yellow, plus it has a lot of dead wax in the run out groove...it's not stamped but that means nothing with a lot of stuff. Do you or anyone have an original?
