  1. ???????????????? The link is all in French and I can't understand it!
  2. Thanks for that Sean! It's a great Northern dancer, I bought it blind cos' it sounded good.....and it is! I had heard of Paul Davis before (think he was solo on a couple of Bang releases?).
  3. Great Northern 45 I just picked up from L.A by 'The Six Soul Survivors' - 'It's Over My Head / Gotta Find A Way' ....2 blistering (Blue Eyed?) tunes with It's Over My Head just shading it, great dancer! £100 in Tim Brown's not mentioned in Manship's. Production credits a G.Soule, is this George Soule who's name i've seen pop up on soul tunes before? Anybody know anything about this group or the record?
  4. Absolutely brilliant tune....re the 'Why Do You Like Soul' thread......this is why!!!
  5. Deffo boot, i've got one too. Styrene with white label, black writing, very plain.
  6. I like other types of music too, especially Reggae/Ska. The Soul side of me is because i'm the kind of person who just loves the emotion in the songs. Another man's heartache alway's makes you know that you're not alone with your pain. We've all felt vunerable and been hurt by love at times in our lives, Soul captures these moments and records them onto vinyl.
  7. Tis' true! I know a guy who works for the Beeb, he's a bit of a greboe, and he samples Jr.Walker & all stars tracks (sax solo bits)for use on some of their programmes. However, I know some guys in the business (TV) are well into Northern & Ska. When you think that most of the producers are now our age group (30s/40s) it stands to reason really. 'Wife Swap' (last years anyway) was full of Northern, and that geezer 'The City Gardner' had a Northern background score. Look at the Ska in the ads too!
  8. I've had several, latest ones say.."You've sent me $50 in paypal, why?". Sent a couple to ebay, rest I scrapped.
  9. Be honest and upfront with him, tell him the mistake you made on the 'snipe'. At least this gives him a chance to offer it to the buyer before you (second chance offer).
  10. So, you're saying he never sent the record in 2005!
  11. We were all discussing your age at work today, could'nt believe you were 37...we thought there'd been a typing error!!!! Sorry Steve, I will explain to the lads tomorrow I promise ok. I thought it was ok, I quite like the Dolly Parton tune myself. I think the article mentioned those mainstream artists because those are the only ones 'the great unwashed' have heard of (from a UK perspective anyway). One guy at work is a massive Helen Shapiro fan and was amazed at her name being mentioned!
  12. Boots have 'The Beat' on the flip, originals have 'Little Young Lover'.
  13. Thats the one mate! And I did buy it. So am to presume both tracks are previously unissued?
  14. Popped into my local record store today, vedor had some new bits and pieces that never really interested me, then he spins this UK Goldmine demo of The Asassins - Nicer Girl (Philadelphia recording)...what a stormer and potential monster! The group sound like The Agents so could be a c/up. What I want to know is..., Is this a previously unreleased track? Has it been out on any Goldmine vinyl before? How come I aint ever heard it cos' IT IS THAT GOOD!!
  15. When can I order issue 4 Dave? is there a link to pay via paypal like last time? Cheers, John
  16. Well, put my claim in and what do you know...I get a begging e-mail off him today! Promises me that if I withdraw the claim he'll post the records.... Told him to spin...."send the records and the claim is history"!!!! Fair deal I think. Waiting for reply...
  17. Don't forget the Inferno release with the brilliant previously unissued 'Gotta Get Closer To Your Love' on the flip.
  18. have you tried the flip of 'Come On Home'....'My Eyes Break Out In Tears' is one of his best Northern tunes!!! Full on atmospheric stomper with breaks.
  19. Ok Soulman, I agree with you totally so am gonna start proceedings. From what I can remember, paypal gives the seller a chance to respond first anyway. Sounds to me like he owes money to ebay for selling fees etc and he's using OUR money to pay these off!!
  20. "Large putthehoop yoda"........
  21. "LIES".....it's almost too obvious!
  22. Thanks for that soulman, I've still got a few weeks grace before putting a claim in via paypal so will give him 'till then to sort it out. If he doesn't come up with the goods, no amount of begging is gonna stop the claim going through. Btw, he actually sent me A LETTER through the post! What a f****** waste of stamp, envelope etc.....just stick the records in the post!!!!!!!!!!
