Northern Soul H Q Outside The Uk ?
Some people have already mentioned the 'younger' and more enthusiastic crowds in the rest of Europe (Spain & Germany spring to mind). I know the scene in the USA is also 'younger'. Just makes you think that the scene is gonna survive (when we're all gone) outside the UK . Was actually talking to a couple of record shop owners yesterday, they claim the youngsters biggest wants are heavy metal & prog rock....but they are not prepared to pay high prices. They also tell me that rock n' roll has died a death..... makes you think....

Soul Books
Not the same but a similar type of thing, I recently picked up 'Motown: The Golden Years' by Bill Dahl...it's a great book featuring all the Motown artists with great 60's photos. Back section is dedicated to the 'unknown' artists. There's a colour section with photos by Weldon A. McDougal III who many know as one of the 'Harthon' production team. He worked with Motown artists during the late 60's/early 70's. The one downside to it is the cover is awful (imo)...instead of using some stunning 60's pictures...they've opted for a few of McDougals (casual) 70's pics. If anyone's interested, the book is published by 'Krause Publications' (www.krause.com)

Records Upon First Hearing That Blow You Away
He's definitely lost them!!! Anyway, he's not interested anymore, don't even think he has one record anywhere in his house. He doesn't even come to our local Soul nights.

Records Upon First Hearing That Blow You Away
Bobby Paris....ahh...I remember hearing this for the first time, going up the stairs and my younger brother blasting it out of the speakers! I knew then and there that I would prise it out of his hands with the temptation of a few marbles....

Kent Records
Also the flip too Ady...'I Got Love'...what another Northern stormer!!! Presume this was unissued too?
- Pieces Of Eight
-
Kent Records
All the above!! Plus: Tommy Hunt - Pretty Part Of You (came out on Horace's backed with Melba Moore which was the second release of her, first one on Kent 100 club Anniversary). Absolutely all of the 100 club singles!!!

Jimmy Hanna & The Dynamics - Leavin' Here - Seafair Bolo Recs
- Bob
- A Yankee In The Court Of Northern Soul
Thanks Honkey!!! Superb Soul sounds, every track's a winner. Quality tuneage. Like the quote on the flip of the CD cover ...'Not for sale. Soul is for lovers. Don't steal the love'- The Moments-just Having Your Love
Don't think it's rare, just great Northern and sure to be in-demand if it becomes known. None on ebay at the moment though!- The Moments-just Having Your Love
Here's one to chase... 'Hurts On Me, Baby' (Stang) Blistering 60's 'Northern' soul...unlike any of their other Stang releases!!! Backed by Willie & Mighty magnificents I do believe? It's on the flip of 'That's All'. Possibly an unissued 60's recording from their Hog days?- Tommy Neal -going To A Happening
So, why does the UK copy say 'A Vault Recording'....- Decisions-i Can't Forget About You(sussex 214)
I think this is a fabulous tune! Played it a couple of weeks ago at a local scooter get-together and my fellow DJ (Ian, soulad) wanted it off me, first time he'd heard it and it blew him away! When I explained that they are around £15 he could'nt believe it! Out and out Northern with a kind of 'Hesitations' group feel about it.
