  2. Good thing about an L.P guide would be that hopefully it'll highlight the best (Northern/dancers/xover) tracks. I'm an avid L.P collector and have many, many rare items, I would love to help out on info if any enterprising person(s) wishes to proceed with such a book. Done myself nearly 20 volumes of CDs on Northern album only tracks....and ongoing!
  3. Nice one on the Bra listings! Mostly soul sounds by the looks of it, the 001 (Llyod & Glen) is a cracking R&B tune! I see they had some mileage out of WAIAD...it's also released #503!!!!
  4. Well, it's titled as Philip James on the UK Island 45. The Bra numbers tell the story really, #201 Philip James ...#602 Blues Busters. Personally I'd keep the Philip James on Soul.
  5. Garland Green album is absolute tops! Mine was £10 (minter, still in shrink wrap) from Canada via ebay about 2 months ago!!!!
  6. How can you insult JESUS like that?!!
  7. Hey Mark! Can you tell him to contact Martin Jol/ Steve McClaren a.s.a.p
  8. Pmd you regarding The Originals. John
  9. Thanks guys. I thought so to be honest. I'll take them with me anyway just to get shot, they're taking up space...for more Northern 45s!!!
  10. Not really a 12" fan (ooh err) so I'm thinking of taking these to Norwich record shop next week to see what I can get for them. Anyone help me out with what prices I can expect? All UK 12" in their own company/picture sleeves EDDIE HENDERSON - PRANCE ON (CAPITOL) AL HUDSON & PARTNERS - YOU CAN DO IT/ HAPPY FEET (MCA) FANTASTIC FOUR - B.Y.O.F BRING YOUR OWN FUNK (ATLANTIC) JERRY MIDDLETON - HEY GIRL (CREOLE) CRUSADERS - STREET LIFE (MCA) RONNIE JONES - SOUL SISTER (MERCURY) LARRY GRAHAM - SOONER OR LATER (WHITE BLANK LABEL) CURTIS MAYFIELD - NO GOODBYES (CURTOM) MARVIN GAYE - SEXUAL HEALING (CBS) BARBARA PENNINGTON - RUNNING IN ANOTHER DIRECTION (U.A) TIA John
  11. Link not working? Not on my computer anyway..
  12. Heard a few years ago that Diana Ross - 'Chain Reaction' & (can't thing of his name at the moment) 'Never Met a Girl like You Before' were played at Northern nights!
  13. Ken Boothe came out on: UK Island JA Studio One (red logo/lettering for original) JA Bra Absolutely superb Rocksteady tune! All with The Wailers 'I Need You' on the flip.
  14. I'll dig my copy out. I need a pic to use as a CD cover so I'll scan it if it's a good un'. Thanks Dave, great mags by the way!
  15. Original is no longer in my possession....but I can tell you it's NOT on the boot! Yay!! Looks like you deffo have a good un'.
  16. Anyone got a pic? One of my absolute favourite groups! Every release is a winner!
  17. No point really mate, they look identical to the real one! I've had both and the only way to tell is the scratched number TRC 162.....boot has the number further apart from the letters (about an inch away).
  18. Obviously in Japan by the looks of him and the young girls walking past. I can't hear no sound though? What's the tune?
  19. Thanks for that! Went straight on Gemm and bagged a copy!!!
  20. We used to do a similar thing to Willie Mitchell's 'The Champion' & 'Secret Home'. It's old fashioned stomping! Looks good with the right 'stomp stomp' beat though!
  21. Good boy Johnny! Personally I'd buy some big ticket items that I really desire, and have a nice D.J box....but with today's over inflated prices 16k won't go far. There are still some great 45s to be had at the cheaper end Johnny will be better off getting a collection of those together. Well done Johnny, and a nice bloke too...did you see the tears in his eyes when the other contestants fell by the wayside.
  22. Love to hear some!
  23. 'Baby Call On Me' is a superb early Detroit dancer! Here's the 'Upfront' USA re-issue
  24. Doubt it, Barnaby's a female (aint she?). Anyway, de-to, agree with your list, thing is, these white artists injected a bit of Motown into their sets (cause' it was the 'in' thing). It's really pop but captured the Wigan crowd. Personally, I love Ray Merrell's effort!
  25. Anyone got a spare they wanna part with? Couldn't make it down there so need the 45 to add to the collection.
