  1. Tammy Wayne Chuck Jackson E G Taylor Rubies All £5 each, I'll have them if still available?
  2. https://whitedoowopcollector.blogspot.com/2010/09/seven-dwarfsthe-time.html
  3. I agree, but the photo I have posted up is the line-up here: 7 Dwarfs - Sharon Herr(also on Keyboards),Rick Reardon,Ronnie Keene,John Helm and Jerry Ransing and with band members Denny Groff on guitar and Charlie Evans in Percussion. The photo clearly say's Dwarfs on their promotional board. Rick Reardon was in both groups. However, the photo may or may not be the 'Stop Girl' group? I guess someone needs to find Rick
  4. All I know is, Rick Reardon appeared in both groups. See bottom credits on Ambassadors 'B' side for vocals... 7 Dwarfs - Sharon Herr(also on Keyboards),Rick Reardon,Ronnie Keene,John Helm and Jerry Ransing and with band members Denny Groff on guitar and Charlie Evans in Percussion. Ambassadors - Bill Parmer (bass), Bobby Bitts. (drummer), Bob Weaver and Mike Sultzbach (sax), Tony Purcell (trumpet), Don Hodgen & Rick Reardon (vocals), Burton (piano), Eric Spitzer (guitar).
  5. And here they are.... There was a discussion on here about these and The Ambassadors on Pee Vee, one or 2 members were in both groups at one time or another, the main one being Rick Reardon. Some info here, sax player for Ambassadors say's they were the Seven Dwarfs... https://soulstrutter.blogspot.com/search/label/Ambassadors
  6. He sounds blue-eyed, especially on the Eastern 45?
  7. There was a discussion previously in this thread. Bob Wilson was pianist with the San Remo Strings, in fact I'm sure it was his group. Here he is, photo from 1966
  8. Back around 1976, I thought Soul was all about James Brown and Funk, a mate of mine who I knew was into Northern Soul explained that it was a bit different. He played me Johnny Caswell and I thought 'WOW!' I'd never heard anything as melodic and heartfelt and I fell in love with NS from that day on. I guess, as someone said, you should try to remember the first time you heard a certain tune and how you felt about it back then.
  9. I always send a message when the record arrives. I don't leave feedback as I'm not 100% sure how you do it, it's a bit complicated for my pea brain. Can someone explain the concept of leaving feedback?
  10. This is the flip of Dry My Eyes... This is the Fona release...but it doesn't have 'Dry My Eyes' on the flip.
  11. It's the same tune as by 'The Mods'. Both groups were on the 'Fona' label and this track was written by Fabulous Flippers front man Danny Hein. Could they be the same group? I've not heard this version of 'Dry My Eyes' by the Flippers and it seems quite a hard one to find, even 45cat never had it listed until I just added it. It's not in Manship's book either. I do know they were a great blue-eyed Soul outfit...
  12. Surely it's a version of Billy Butler's 'My Heart Is Hurtin'....????? In fact someone on another youtube clip is saying The Royal Imperials were Billy Butler & The Enchanters! I'm confused, different writing credits too!
  13. Hi Michael, My Larry Williams, bought from Soul Bowl in the late 80's has a stick on label. I think you're right and there are 2 sorts, pretty sure that is the case with some other Okeh 45's.
  14. Larry Williams, I wouldn't think that was booted? I'll dig my copy out and see if it's stick on label, I can't remember. Here's a link to a listed copy that looks like moulded label but the video looks like styrene stick on... https://www.45cat.com/record/47259

    The 'Rojac' guy.
  16. This thread has just been linked by someone over on 45cat so I thought I'd put my two-penneth worth in. Another of he Northern type 45's is 'What About Mine' on Groove, and here she is...
  17. Just remembered another version that I actually have in my box by Colin Cook, and it's not a bad Aussie take!
  18. Ah yes, I forgot about Linda Scott (on Kapp) good version!
  19. I'm a massive fan of the 'LP Only Tracks' and put together a few CDs for myself recently. Mine are more 1960's Northern though to be honest.
  20. Jackie Trent....best version. Len Barry close second. Lovin' Spoonful better than the other lame versions, at least the Spoonful's got a bit of Soul. Disappointed in the Sonny & Cher version, thought they'd do a better job because the backing track on 'Good Combination' is great and 100% Northern.
