Laura Nyro's 1971 album, 'It's Gonna Take a Miracle' is worth getting hold of.
Yes, with Labelle and some good Motown covers.

The version of Dusty Springfield - A Love Like Yours is from the 1978 45 release. There is actually a better version she recorded in 1974 for an unreleased ABC/Dunhill LP, which is more (dare I say it) Northern.

We really loved it! Brilliant singers and orchestra it sounded amazing even on our really ole TV without surround sound. Read in the other thread some songs did not make the cut hope they release another longer one with them included as well
One was Jimmy Beaumont's 'I Never Loved Her Anyway'.

How could they leave off "Take Good Care" by Tony Mason, the 2 Players' cuts, "Just Remember Me" by The Creations, and Emanuel Lasky's "A Letter From Vietnam", and Mike Williams' "Lonely Soldier"? I'm glad, at least, they have my favourite Vietnam song by The Pacesetters.
Hi Robb,
Maybe you have an answer to this?
Discogs have linked Mike Williams to Jimmy Williams who were in a rock/beat group during 1965/6 called 'The Playboys Of Edinburg'. Later, the brothers formed a country outfit called 'The Younger Brothers'. As you can probably work out, these are white musicians. However, as Mike Williams also had a 45 out on 'King' which is a James Brown production, I have my doubts!
Begs the question: if Mike is a white guy... 'Vietnam Through The Eyes Of Black America'.??

I'm in! My missus will be getting me that for Christmas.

The Fleet All-Dayer - Fletton, Peterborough 1983.
Enjoyed it so much because I learned so many new sounds that day and remember writing a list out of wanted tunes. Was with good mates and I remember buying a copy of Frank Wilson on UK Tamla Motown, still got it of course!

All I can comment is, as per usual I don't have any of those!

I was thinking about "authenticity" really.
I know there are red vinyl Motown 45s. Trying to think if seen purple ? Jimmy Ruffin/Gladys Knight pops into my head but cant place why ?
I just thought black vinyl was used for original.
Not that keen on re-issues myself as would prefer unreleased material to be put out but I guess sales/revenue come into it.
As you said, red. This sits in my Motown box, original demo...

I wonder if the imminent pressing will be 'as is ' like the test pressing?
Does the colour purple have a significance?

There is a version of the Nooney Rickett track 'Sad Tomorrows' on a Trini Lopez 45 (Reprise 0328) 1964 and on an LP 'The Love Album' (Reprise 6165) 1965

Singers were top notch I thought, 'Time' & that F. Wilson tune sung with plenty o' soul I thought.
It was just a bit of fun really. My 11 year old daughter thought it was great.
