  1. I'm sure Nicks still got it Steve, he played it at Movin on a groove a couple of times, not sure if he's played it at Altrincham, must get him to play it in October, great record!
  2. Been after a copy of this for years, great tune!
  3. Great tune, good luck finding one, took me ages.
  4. Was always pleasantly suprised by some of the great tunes he used to play, won't be the same on a Saturday morning.
  5. As long as you've got descent decks and styluses you shouldn't have a problem, just follow the manufactures instructions. I change my stylus for a new one frequently and have the weight set quite light at about 2gms (manufacturer recommends 3gms) I have a pioneer deck with a ortofon stylus and haven't had any problems. Whenever I change any equipment (stylus etc) I always play a cheap record a few times to make sure it's set up okay and not doing any damage to the record, and from previous experience never back cue! Hope this helps. Mark
  6. Charles Brandy, one of the best tunes of the night for me!
  7. Heard this quite a few years ago now, been after a copy ever since but never seen one for sale, don't think it's in any of the price guides, wait is the best side for me.
  8. I've been after one for ages, Dave Raistrick had one for sale but had gone by the time I'd noticed it, I was gutted.
  9. Quite a popular tune on the Belgium popcorn scene, Close to me, had my copy for a few years now maybe a bit slow for a northern night, still a great tune though.
  10. Great tune, bought my copy from Craig moerer, has the same title on the label both sides (taunting love) although it does have the correct tunes taunting love/isn't it a shame. Anybody else's copy like that.
  11. Wow, just heard Rose St. John, I know the meaning on Brian Matthews sounds of sixties, he plays some better records than some clubs play, great tune.
  12. Manships sold one quite few years ago for about £1,300 or there abouts on his auction, not many mint- ones come up for sale, one of the best mid tempo 60s northern records for me.
  13. Just listened to the show and really enjoyed it, excellent choice of tunes. The Nags Head in Manchester has Northern Soul on most Saturday nights by the way, hence the memorabilia on the walls.
  14. I'll have to give the show a listen sounds like your playing some good tunes.
  15. Great set, especially Chi Chi if you're gonna love me.
  16. As far as I'm aware my copy is the boot, but never been 100% sure, the sound on my copy is excellent all the way through and has the same number in the run out groove but can't see the 161 and squiggle. From where the record finishes to the label is approx. 6/8" and the run out groove is 5/8" definitely well below an inch whatever you wish to measure as the run out groove, I've always been lead to believe the boot run out groove was an inch. Had my copy for over 30 years and never been sure which it is, I've included pictures off both sides, hope this helps and maybe someone can confirm which mine is.
  17. Was played at The Clifton Hall in Rotherham and always got a good reception on the dance floor, surprised it's not played more often, great record.
  18. I took a chance on that one, oops!
  19. Probably down to alcohol and new people on the scene who don't understand the etiquette, you can usually tell them by the way they dance (badly!)
  20. Emanual Laskey You know what I Iike, an acetate as far as I'm aware, Richard Serling used to play it as Trade Martin. It is on you tube.
  21. Great set, something for everyone, love the Bettye Swann and Teddy and the fingerpoppers tracks and the fantastic Bobbie Smith
  22. After a copy of Kim D come on baby/the real thing please pm me with condition and price. cheers Mark.
  23. The price is probably low for both of them because of the version on Linda with the intro, you don't see many of the Warner Bros issues for sale though, quite rare I believe.
  24. Wouldn't mind hearing that, does it get played anywhere or is it tucked away in someone's collection.
  25. Spot on!! There's more than enough so called DJs with a box full of boots playing the same old records at the moment. The scene would have died years ago if wasn't for DJs prepared to play different stuff, if I don't hear something new or underplayed I'm disappointed.
