  10. Is it known if the Master Tapes relate to the original instrumental in any way ? Same studio ? Same label ? Same producer ? Same arranger ? etc. etc. or any other useful info to tie the two together ??? just to satisfy my own curiosity
  11. Pardon my ignorance but I wonder if someone out there could augment my meagre knowledge regarding this "record" A) Is it a true original, performed and produced during the glory days of soul (6ts v.early7ts) which had lain undiscovered and gathering dust for 30 years or more, waiting for an avid collector to turn it up and share it amongs the masses or Is it a recent recording of a "voice / sing over" on top of the original instrumental If choice A) above is fact, how many copies are there, what do they look like, what are their value(s) on the presumption that only one copy would make it more valuable than DILY(IID) BTW I like it as a record, just want some clarity
  12. saw this on the web will this do
  13. I can remember being at the Casino some time during it's first year, certainly before the 1st anniversary. In those days there was plenty of room to dance. Big rumour going around on the night that Frank Booper was in. I'd never seen or heard of him before, someone explained to me that he was a really good dancer. I was probably about 17 or 18 at the time. Anyway this, (to my mind), almost middle aged guy (late 20s maybe) in a crisp white shirt, slightly portly, (no offence intended if you're reading this Frank), not wearing the bags type trousers, but ordinary suit trousers goes to the DJ obviously to request a record, then hangs around by the stage. When the record comes on I was treated to the most awesome display of northern dancing I have ever seen in my life. The whole place stopped to watch and applauded after. You name the move , he had it and all in perfect time to the beat of the record. Abso bloody lutely amazing.

  17. It always amazes me how some of the lesser labels manage to have what sounds like a MASSIVE string and brass section on their tunes. How did they do that, hire them in just for that production, the sound always sounds excellent they must have practiced before they cut the tracks ?????? Anybody with an insight into this ????
  18. I'm sure they had competitions at Station Road People up on stage competing against each other "Name that intro" must have been in the early days when it was quiet - before all the tourists arrived cheers Rob
  19. You can buy all the motown CDs listed on Hip-OSelect by ordering from www.soulmusic.com as a special order item They order the CDs on your behalf add about a $5 to $10 dollar premium on the hiposelect price and then charge you US postage on top. (takes about 14 days to arrive) Hiposelect won't send to the UK although they do send to the majority of other countries in the world. Hope this helps
