  5. i bought mine 5-6 years ago i paid £60 then and i saw it at that time in mick smiths box at £50 so considering the way prices have increased i think its worth a lot more,i know a guy who had 20 copys of pete warner - i just want to spend etc all as new never played and all promos he sold them at £40 each dont mean there only worth £40 and that was only a few months ago.if you get any at £75 let me know,i know people that will snatch your arm off at that price
  6. yeah the notts/derby crowd or deffinatly into it now mark i started playing it at shirland, derbyshire about 2 years ago, fills the floor round here now,not heard any other dj's this way play it,mick h could have one not sure,i bought mine off the late andy lee before he was tragically killed in a road accident (the ex djing partner of john poole ) about 6 years ago so i'd never sell it,heres a record in need of a play if it isnt already getting it cast a spell - turnpikes ,what do you think?

  12. if anyone has a good quality mp3 of love you babe - paulette i would appreciate a copy,i have one its on my site www.alfretonsoulclub.homestead.com take a listen, but the quality is not too good.the reason i want it is to play in memory of derek allen at alfreton 23rd july 2005,this was a very special record to him and was one he played,if you want you can e-mail it direct to me,there is no other reason for me wanting this song other than stated,if i dont get a better copy i will play the one i have on the night,i know butch has this record but i doubt he would do me a copy lol thanks ian
  13. oh btw mike i was reading a old archive where you stated a glyn williams was the guy that gave you the idea of starting up your site,i think that would be the same glyn that i ran alfreton with back in the days when our club was called soultastic soul club,he was proberbly one of the first soulies to have a site, how times have changed.i remember flyering clubs like bretby and keele and there wasnt another flyer in sight,i was even asked to stop putting them out at bretby, untill chris king had a few words with the management there

  17. Cleethorpes too me is the best weekender out, attendances was down a little this year but not supprising the amount of other weekenders thats now on so therefore its up to all us soulies that are dedicated to cleethorpes to push it along a little next year,ie help promote it by word of mouth, plugs at venues and handing a few flyers etc etc.you all know saying "keep on keepin on" well as a club /event that sometimes becomes financialy impossible, keep the faith spread the word ,and keep cleethorpes going for many more years,in saying that i enjoyed every minute even although i practically broke my ankle throwing myself about on the floor lol, hightlight for me was when jimmy thomas came off stage and just came up to me and started chatting away ,great guy
