    How long until venues start putting “NO AI” on the flyers… Doesn’t do anything for me personally. It just doesn’t sound right. I can’t relate to it and I wouldn’t have a true connection to the song when I’m on the dancefloor if it’s a voice generated by an algorithm.

    Totally agree. However the only people speaking on it had me and rhys not, would’ve been people that aren’t on the scene at all, don’t support other proper venues, and some neek from tiktok talking about trousers. And it would’ve looked even more tragic. As these folk are so desperate for attention, glory and money. They will say yes to any bullsh*t publication as it keeps the spotlight on them all the time

    I did mention the 100 club a lot when I spoke to the interviewer. Journos being journos they cut the majority of it and only included the parts tbey wanted to put across. Had I known prior they was going to interview some random that makes tiktok videos, using that as a “bringing ns back” point - i would’ve had nothing to do with it. Live and learn eh. I knew something was dodgy when one of the questions they asked was something along the lines of “do you wear 70s clothes”

    That was from our first anniversary, it was absolutely crammed shoulder to shoulder most of the night. We have an all nighter (9-6) this saturday. It shouldn’t be as busy as that vid, though I’m really looking forward to it !

    More of an organised fashion shoot that as I know the dancers were paid to be there Some of them in that vid were at the 100 club the night before (which was incredible btw) plenty of super rare unreleased, acetates, recent discoveries etc played to a mega up for it crowd - Pure magic…

    Definitely some fantastic dancers to watch and learn off! Darkhorses allnighter, Rugby, 100 club, Room at the top to name a few. Worth checking out and more than welcoming to younger people!

    I saw some wicked dancers at rugby on saturday with such unique styles and personal flair! All reacting to differently to changes in sound’s throughout the night and different rooms as they had a modern room. Was amazing to watch and share the dancefloor with them!

    I was born in Birmingham but my dad is from Keighley, his name is Qamar or Cammy/cam is his nickname people call him, some here may know him has been on the scene since the 70’s, when I was really young probably when I was around 8 years old we would drive from Birmingham to keighley every other weekend to visit family and my dad would play old tapes that he had on the journey up. My first memory of my exposure to northern is I used to always ask my dad to play this one specific tape and one specific song, I don’t know why I loved it so much and wanted to hear it every time we’d be in his car but something about it just spoke to me, the song was Anderson brothers - I can see him loving you. That was my first real exposure to northern soul, I did’t even know what it was at the time, and now i’m 26 and soul music is my life theres no going back

    I remember the once I was going to a night after work and told my mates where I was going and then they was curious and mustve youtubed “northern soul” and they get a video up of a blackpool ‘world dancing competition’ and said “is this what you’re going to do tonight?” Made me think to myself… wow is this what people think this thing is.
