I paid 1shilling and sixpence to see his league debut for United vs. West Brom I think it was, and I remember he had scored inside the first few minutes. There were over 200 more to come.

I went to this one. I'm sure they were the main act and I have a strong feeling that the support was the Fatback Band. My own main memory was having a mouse run across my foot, but the Commodores were good and it was obvious Lionel Ritchie was a major star about to happen.

I remember that night, if I remember correctly there were two performances with the theatre only 25% full if that. The show was a shambles with the Chairmen obviously not wanting to be there. It was all the worse because The Four Tops had been on a few months earlier and they were sensational.
