  1. how crazy ??
  2. careful...everytime i say something about him i get my legs slapped & my posts removed
  3. ok rachel, fair do's.....however, i dont think the post that rattled soul sorts cage was off topic , we are here to compile 2 lists are we not ?
  4. pissin myself laughing at that one, a right ball splitter,.......if you care to go back & read this thread properly, you will see that our good friend beeks has admitted that he played boots at his pub do's, so if were going to make a list of O.V.O. venues & C.R.A.P. venues, which was the original purpose of this thread, then i think you'll find that my post was relevant
  5. if my memory serves me right, i seem to recall the acetate belongs to tim ashebende & is uncredited, dont know was responsible for the t.n.t. boots but, they were bloody convincing, really looked the part, well, the one i saw did
  6. like you say, you never know, who would have thought danny moore & royal esquires plus the aforementioned clara hardy would turn up the way they did,
  7. hi steve, you can add... earl of doncaster & thorne to your list of o.v.o. venues, when are you going to be compiling the list of c.r.a.p. venues ?
  8. o.k. mike, thats fair enough......but you've got to admit, it was funny as fcuk, can i post it back up tomorrow when he's back off the naughty step
  9. no, its the original, pressed on styrene, the boots were pressed on vinyl, sorry about the quality of scan, record at mates house, had to get him to email scan to me, seems to have shrunk
  10. i think it would have to be a lot more than 30 copies turning up to seriously bring the value of lester tipton down,
  11. hi paul, that tells me that seller had 4 -5 copies
  12. servicemen - i need a helping hand - pathway vg £40
  13. bollocks...arthur fenn only 21, youre avin a giraffe
  14. right beeks, ive got you now, sorry mate, i missunderstood you, i just thought that you were an annoying little prick trying to make a name for himself, but, i was wrong......youre the new mesiah of northern soul, exorcising the bad apples out of the scene, ridding the northern soul scene of scum like jock, butch, andy dyson, steve g, to name but 3 of the infidills that youve mentioned,.....whoes next ? ......"bring me the head of arthur fenn"
  15. is this the same as "the only three - dig it - walana"
  16. that surprises me, i would have thought the plum issues were a lot rarer than the yellow ones, ive had about 5-6 copies of yellow over the years, but, only ever seen a couple of plums
  17. and your point is ??? it wasnt meant to be a cutting edge list of unknowns, i posted it up to demonstrate that there are records out there that can be purchased for the same price as boots, whether you played them 25 years ago is totally irrelevant
  18. sams still mourning the demise of the 78's
  19. it wasn't a d.j. set per se, more a list of tunes off the top of my head...toss in a few more well known oldies, & with the currant popularity of 70's tunes,a few more of them, then, yeah, i think you could keep a dancefloor full, without having to resort to the playing of freddie chavez, duke browner, etc boots, lets not forget, theres also the motown catalogue that can be drawn upon for cheap floor fillers, both 60's and 70's, without having go down the baby love / reach out, road i'm not saying that joe blogs & his mates who run a monthly village hall soul nite should overnight drop the playing of boots of the top 500 oldies, christ, if they did that then no funker would turn up for the next one, however, if over a period of time, started to phase in some originals & start to drop the boots then in the end everyone wins, guys like jocko & steve g, to name but two, have a wealth of knowledge, im sure they would be able to point people in the right direction of class originals at bootleg prices
  20. here we go...an hours set of originals that can be purchased for probably less than an hours set of boots mamie galore - it aint necessary - st lawrence chuck jackson - good things - wand j. j. barnes - please let me in - ric tic mirettes - he's alright with me - mirwood volumes - my kind of girl - inferno companions - be yourself - g a t.s.u. toronadoes - what good am i - atlantic natural 4 - you cant keep running away - curtom walter jenkins - back in my life - fader kat deon jackson - i cant go on - carla monclairs - wait for me - sunburst creations - oh baby - globe admirations - dont leave me - one-der-ful betty everett - unlucky girl - uni darrow fletcher - changing by the minute - uni diane lewis - i thank you kindly - wand superlatives - lonely in a crowd - dynamics / westbound jimmy delphs - ive been fooled before - carla betty lavette - only your love can save me - calla greg perry - love control - chess jive five - crying like a baby - musicor george jackon - that lonely night - r.r. / cameo thats just a few examples off the top of my head, theres loads of them out there & if you want to be a 70's dj then the worlds your lobster, theres thousands of cheap quality 45's to be had & more 70's albums with great tracks to be had for less than the price of a boot, so theres really no excuses ive based the above list on records that can quite easily be found for £5 - £20, when you consider that boots are regularly changing hands on ebay for around fifty quid, then you could really up the ante,
  21. its an original jock.....laura lee didnt have a stamped "ztsc" number, only a scratched in (handritten) one, on both issues & demos, both issues & demos were on styrene, the boot was an issue pressed on vinyl, no boots of demos
  22. well said peter, i'll start the ball rolling shall i.........how about drax for starters...two pillocks playing off goldmine c.d's
  23. where do you get detroit from, bombay is a chicago label, if you're going by the ztsc stamp on the fascinators, then your'e wrong, ztsc stuff was pressed at columbia in chicago
  24. would it be fair to say....keb dont like hip hop
  25. ive got one i might let go, however, it'll take more than 40 quid to tempt me to sell
