  1. this is a different label, from toledo ohio....whereas george blackwells smoke label was from newark, new jersey, theres another title on the label, but, i cant for the life of me remember what it is, a real rare piece, curtis somebody, or, somebody curtis seems to ring a bell, ady pierce used to have one
  2. friend of mine gave me a demo of this last year, on the few occasions promoters have asked me to play a few tunes ive played the track "how did i lose you" to good reception, prior to my mate giving me his copy i searched for this album for 3 years without finding one
  3. carl fortnum had one, dont know if he still has it keb had this one covered up as jimmie raye....pat used to play the other little john 45, heartbreaking time on martay

  5. sorry, i think were bordering on rock n roll here, it sounds like the opening to happy days, nice vocals & harmonies, but, not my cup of tea, but as they say, theres an arse for every seat

  11. well bob, i can assure you i dont just look at "rare" soul lists & i think i can honestly say ive seen more copies of the jackson 5 than lester tipton, next time try & make your posts a little lass condescending
  12. always kicked myself for not getting that one off blake, if memory serves me right it was the princely sum of 15 pounds of the realm, great record that should be played out, ive just purchased a philips copy off joe dutton
  13. got to agree with you there dave, last time i saw one of these was about 15 years ago in blakes sales box, yet ive seen seen 7 copies of the super dooper, mega rare bernie williams for sale in the past 2 years manship 3, brady 2, anglo american 1, and thats not including the ones that have gone through ebay
  14. multi coloured label.......reissue yellow label......original
  15. i remember phil dick telling me that he had aquired the rights for "i really love you" (bobby james / jimmy burns) off of bobby james in the mid 90's, bobby james had no knowledge of the grapevine release
  16. ive had / got a few like this..strange thing is, they all seem to be chicago things, vontastics - i'll never say goodbye, mitty collier - pain & a few chess things + a copy of the impressions - you've been cheating where the label quite litereley fell out of the record
  17. was booted twice on big top....red label with magic potion on tother side......blue paper label counterfeit, a pretty good effort, but, the silver lettering is not as sharp as on the original
  18. quite possibly, however, it was no secret what the true identity of this record was,
  19. all records pressed at this pressing plant were prone to labels falling off, shrine releases are notorious for it
  20. aaaaahhhhhhh beeksy, stop it, people might start to think were warming to each other
  21. bloody hell, never thought i'd find myself agreeing with you still think you're a knob though
  22. and there was me thinking you just wanted him to talk dirty to you
  23. tim brown ended up with pat bradys copy, nigel parker never really played his copy out because he & pat were both residents at bradford queens hall & pat was still playing his copy, the acetate (10 inch) was owned by mark hanson, dont know if he's still got it
