  2. a levine production perhaps
  3. read arthurs post...twas the mighty fennster who found the record in the states & covered it up as bobby jason
  4. also a version by jerry butler on vee jay
  5. original is styrene with raised s stamp... boot is vinyl
  6. this is a boot from the pitsburgh area done at the time the record was released, dodgy distributers of records used to press up there own copys to distribute to shops, thus keeping all the profit for themselves
  7. a great tune, one that ive been playing regulary at york over yhe past year
  8. how come levines got simsy to put the posting up ? has he been banned from here again ? or has he resigned in another one of his girly tantrums ?
  9. LIGHT LUNCH & THE FREELOADERS - HOW CAN I WIN YOUR LOVE - ARCTIC WD EX COND £100
  10. never been booted, issue is considerably rarer than demo, ive only ever seen two issues, as for price, you can pick up a demo for £100 - £150, an issue would be a lot more
  11. how can it play great if its got surface noise ? or do you mean the surface noise plays great ?
  12. hi phil the scans looked ok to me too, a nice oddity if ever there was one, wonder how many were pressed before they realised the mistake, i should imagine that being pressed on styrene they would have all been recycled, cant imagine many escaping
  13. carl fortnum used to have it, dont know if he's still got it though
  14. probally around the 100 quid mark, quite a hard one to get nowdays, used to see it a lot in the 80's but as with all quality records once they go into collections they dont come out again
  15. good morning your lordship..think i might have one, i'll have a look & get back to you
  16. a great record thats never had its day, although the price has been gradually creeping up in recent years... used to get the odd spin upstairs at stafford
  17. cheques in the post ken...ive used a couple of shrine things as stiffners
  18. its normally the opposite for me sean
  19. i would recomend using johns auction, most of the time things on his auctions achieve a much higher price than an individual could hope to get for them, the few things he's auctioned for me have achieved on average around 25% more than the average selling price, so, even after he's taken his 15% commision ive still had a good result, however, unless its something stupidly rare they have to be at least a very strong ex- grade
  20. i bought a copy of the lollipops on impact from an american dealer for ten dollars, it arrived with two records as stiffners...an unplayed copy of stevie wonder - nothings too good for my baby complete with juke box tabs in a company sleeve & some old doo wop thing on a very obscure looking label. i sold stevie wonder for a tenner & put the doo wop thing on ebay, it sold for just under 50 quid, thats what i call a result perhaps the strangest packaging ive ever had was back in the 80's....i bought a record from a well known dealer & tucked inside the sleeve was a wrap of white powder...now thats what i call customer service
  21. stanley mitchell - quit twisting my arm walter jenkins - back in my life don varner - masquerade leroy taylor - oh linda patti williams - im doing the best that i can
  22. by all accounts it is actually tommy tate, the b side of tommy tate's "im taking on pain" on okeh "are you from heaven" is very similar
  23. well, if we're going to split hairs, then, how about..... al scott / mr soul - what happened to yesterday - genuine...covered for about the same amount of time as little ann, or the mello souls, covered by butch for about 10 years
