  1. Do folks here have an idea of how many copies exist? Single digits? I wonder how many were pressed.
  2. Oh, good observation. I'm also curious how many stock copies are out there... I own the one sold in 2014 but haven't seen any others.
  3. Hadn't heard of that - thanks Scotters!
  4. I'm not too surprised at that price, since it's a much better record IMO than "1000 Tears Too Late" / "The Crawl" which has been sold a number of times on eBay and itself fetches quite a bit of money. Curious whether "Color One Tear Black" is really so much rarer, or whether it's just that no one is willing to sell.
  5. Great record. Anyone seen one for sale in recent times? I'm wondering what the price would be.
  6. Does anyone have a recommendation for software to save and execute searches on eBay? I've been using AuctionSieve for many years, but it's just a side project for the developer who created it and so it doesn't get a lot of updates or bug fixes. I would use eBay's saved search feature, but there's a limit on the number of saved searches you can have. I have hundreds of searches saved in AuctionSieve and I need the software to be able to handle that.
  7. There have been a few threads here over the years. Most folks have said that all originals have the AT and SRC, although that may have relied on JM's guidance rather than on independent knowledge. A few people have reported that there's a Monarch pressing, but that would have an MR stamp and MO on the label. I saw you'd asked about this a while back and someone said that there are six original variations. This thread looks most relevant to your copy:
  8. Unsure about pricing. Seems not to be in demand, but pretty obscure and the only sale I see on Popsike was for $37 years ago...
  9. That Billy Wade 45 is great IMO. More known among funk collectors, although I don’t have any info on the artist himself. He has another good one on ABC, “I Can’t Help It”.
  10. Picked up a copy of this 45 the other day. Are folks here familiar with it? I saw that it’s in Manship’s USA guide but based on Google results it seems pretty obscure. Decent tune with an early sound. Wondering if it ever got plays in the Northern scene.
  11. Rita and the Tiaras - wow... Love that record but that is quite a price. I was just looking at the 1979 Destiny reissue and laughed because Dave Raistrick writes on the back "this now has reputedly been fetching up to £100 on the original label". Was it really that cheap in the 70s? Of course demand has increased dramatically but it's amusing to note that with inflation £100 is only £451 today!
  12. Ah, I wasn't sure how long that option had been around. I can understand casual vinyl listeners or sellers being unaware of the difference. Good thing to know about, though. Serious sellers should be careful about it I think!
  13. Thanks for that! Looks like some pressing plants used both materials, but still useful guidance about in that thread. I hadn't realized there was so much variation in the quality of styrene.
  14. Whenever there's both a vinyl and a styrene version of a release, I'd prefer to have the vinyl. But sometimes sellers (especially on eBay) don't say which they have. Even on discogs where there's quite a bit of info on different pressings, many of them aren't correctly listed as styrene. (I'd just ask the seller, but sometimes they don't know how to tell or they don't respond.) If I'm lucky I can tell from photos whether the label is glued on. But otherwise, without having the record in my hands, are there ways to know which material it's made of? One thought I had was that maybe certain pressing plants only used one material or the other in certain years. Can anyone tell me whether that's true? Are there any other factors along those lines that I could rely on?
  15. That's interesting, I had never heard of that. Do you have a label scan you could share?
