  1. Rnb dead , not a chance! I had the pleasure of Dj-ing in Barcelona at the 'Boiler club' and I can honestly say it's the best night I've played at closely followed by the Pow Wow. There was lots of younger people and a good mix who are into the music/vinyl also people who are just out for a night of dancing to quality music. It was refreshing to see so many young fit women people loving the music for what it is not how rare or expensive it may be . People shouldn't get boged down with the term Rnb. The key is to play a range of music that makes you want to dance Rnb, Soul, Mod, Boogaloo, Latin etc. It sounds so simple but so many people forget this and before you know it the Rnb room is empty only left with the hardcore punters who are out most weekends and sometimes you cant recover the atmosphere you tried to build up all night. Thing is with northern rooms you find poeple dancing to any old shite but because it's rare or a certain dj plays it they feel obliged to dance . I always think to myself "what would a group of younger people think if they walked in and heard tunes like Church Street Sally, Jt Parker, Rudy Love, Manny C, The Jokers, The Isonics, Bobby Valentin, Parisians, Danny Owens, Rufus Wood they would be on the dancefloor having a great time. Long Live Rnb! Long live quality soul music! Modern + Xover will be the one that suffers Callum
  2. You could always sell me Clarence Reid if you need some cash . I've Just compiled a CD together full of new stuff I've bought recently, Lanny Hunt IMO is the best tune on there, what a fookin belter about 1.40 seconds of storming Rnb/Soul, I'll pop you one in the post . any joy with selling the Lil Gray? Cheers
  3. Nice sales mate Lil Gray is a top draw Rnb dancer and one that doesn't pop up too often, getting spins at some top niters. Lanny Hunt could become a monster of a record in the hands of the right Dj. If someone like Karl heard played this I think it would rocket though the roof, a)because it's a seriously rare record & b) it's an instant floorfiller . I got my copy off manships around 3 months back for £405 slightly over priced but once I heard it i had to have it, totally new to me and very much my kind of sound. A classic case of Rnb meets uptempo soul!!!
  4. Agree with matt on this one. It's all about finding new quality records. There's some great stuff being turned up on the Rnb scene. There are Still lots quality records out there being found that fit into that category of 1960-70 that you wouldn't call oldies . My theory is: Modern is Shite
  5. not that it really matters but there's a issue of Zu Zu which is much rarer than the demo + it's cheaper at the minute Callum
  6. It definately does grow mate especially 'I love you' side. 'Honeybee' hit me instantly great dancer would go brilliant with Danny Owens I just need to find one now .

  20. Two stunning tracks Denbo, Would love to own copies myself I cant beleive I missed the JC Pomonkey was talking about on ebay, I'd of had a serious snipe on it . Edith Brown I've only ever heard Andy Dyson spin this it's one of those tunes that I'd travel 200 miles to hear out loud in a packed club, awesome!!! JC has gotta be worth around £1300+ not sure on Edith Brown though?
