  6. If I was a young trendy who wore fred perry's and was intrigued and wanted to find out more about the wonderful world of soul via SS then this would make me think WTF are these guys problems like Warren has said it's only a bloody shirt...what harm is it going to do? Infact it might get a few more people interested! I dont know if you noticed at the all-dayer on Sunday there was quite a few younger people wearing Fred Perry's...ok maybe not as obvious with the patches but simliar kind of clothing. Maybe it's a good thing that a popular brand like Fred Perry is promoting Soul I do agree with one thing though...that they are overpriced! Callum

  11. Did you get sorted with a Jolly Jax? Many Thanks Callum
  12. I personally am not a fan of digging through boxes at niters/soul nights because as steve mentioned you will almost certainly return home to find it a lot cheaper on ebay + if i go to a niter i want to be dancing and having a good time chatting to friedns etc. Dont get me wrong threre are certian dealers/friends who are always on the money with prices but some try to take the piss and it's a bit shit really. If you put the work in on ebay + other american dealer sites you can get bargains for sure, that is unless someone posts a link up on here lol! C/U's are exciting and do create a buzz...Mace is a master at this and seems to find hard records and still covers them up, he's even got his own cover up label lol! If i've got what i think is a genuinely rare record i wont cover it but if it's a cheap 20/30 quid record that most people haven't cottoned onto yet I'll try to cover it and see what the response is. It is a bit of a game but it does make it more enjoyable....it's the chase that's the best bit IMO! Callum
  13. Three from a previous list but wanted to give people who missed the list another chance Up for grabs three quality dancers all different from each other and all have soundfiles, so have a listen and se what you think. Guitar Slim Green - Rock The Nation - Geenote - VG+ - 40ukp (One for the rockin RnB fans maybe..I've played it a few times in RnB sets alongside stuff like Sugar Boy, Billy the Kid etc and has always gone down well...never seen another copy) Steve and the Holidays - German Measles - Dandy - 100Ukp (It has a funk feel to it also a mod feel to it so that that make it a funky mod dancer...have a listen and make your own mind up, it's quite a toughie) BB Brown - Low Down Dirty Tramp - Dit Dot - VG+ - 75Ukp (Uptempo Rnb Dancer seen listed at much higher than this) Pm if interested or if you want to make a sensible offer many thanks Callum STEVE AND THE HOLIDAYS - GERMAN MEASLES_0.mp3 GUITAR SLIM GREEN - ROCK THE NATION_1.mp3
  14. Updated and Reduced - Only a couple left! Many Thanks Callum
  15. Sure is a belter...first C/U by Ted Couldstone I think? Heard it play it at Bidds and it really did stand out (for all the right reasons), a little bit out of the ordinary. Not an easy one to find....good luck Callum
  16. Cheers for posting this mate.... It is rather nice, just shows you that you should always turn the vinyl over and give both sides a listen. I'd say this was the better side out of the two Callum
  17. Some quality Rnb/Soul sales up for grabs.....Need to raise funds for a want ...I'll have no records left at this rate lol! Have a listen and let me know if you are interested. Soundfiles at bottom of post! Sonny Moore - Erase and Replace - Mercury - Ex (close to mint) SOLD (Stunning Voice and a great dancer) Bobby Adams - Dont Leave - Symbol - VG+ (few scuffs NAP) - SOLD (on the same label as what a mess seems to be harder...earlier and more rocking) Guitar Slim Green - Rock The Nation - Geenote - VG+ - 40ukp (One for the rockin RnB fans, quality dancer never seen another copy) Steve and the Holidays - German Measles - Dandy - 80Ukp (hard one to describe apart from a quality club dancer...quite tough) Toni & Showmen - Try My Love - Ten Star - VG+ - SOLD (Still sounds great!!!) 18. Perhaps Ted stumbled across it through this thread , I must say Ted has a amazing collection...records that i can only dream of owning. I've had time to think and reflect and maybe i should of not posted anything and brought more atention to it alongside the ebay link. However I still feel that posting links up while auctions are live should be banned. I agree with Chalky and yes it is almost impossible to manage and probably wont happen but it's just my opinion. I agree if it's someone trying to pull a fast one or selling a dodgy boot etc then yeah by all means but not when it's a highly sought after record (by those that know it). I saw it posted in the top tips John and took note but then again I've known it for years after hearing Hoss play it. Great record, I cant wait to hear it played out and have a dance to it Callum
  19. Ha ha ha ....it's called living on the bread line mate
  20. I'll give you 50ukp for it ...
  21. Mace does quite well out of it, lol!
  22. It not a case of bidding what it's worth to me, If i could I'd happily slap 1500ukp on it but unfortunately i'm not in a position to do that. Records that are not highlighted or attention brought to them on here sometimes do slip through for a fraction of the price especially if it's a semi-known which i think old Viv Jones fits into that category, this enables small time players like myself have a slim chance providing some numpty hasn't posted it for all to see including the big times who have have never heard the record before and may decide they like it and want it! You'd be surprised just how much of bearing SS has on ebay auctions mate Callum
  23. Dont get me wrong mate, I love a bit of Mid-tempo but it has to have balls about it...magicians, lee stone, Tony Clarke, Johnny Barnes immeadietly spring to mind Callum
