  8. Your right chalky...most just listing favourite dj's. A balanced set for me should consist of different genres & tempos. Take people on a journey! For me people who balance/mix their sets really well: Tomasso - a mix of soul, rnb and latin...quite often plays a few unknown to most records however the quality is there. Chris dale - again plays a really balanced set, big northern records, great rnb records, ska and Latin. Rich evans - great tunes and knows what the dancefloor wants,"I said hey foxy"...tune Mace - top tunes all the way...I think I've only heard him play on dodgy set :-). Great at finding unknown Latin records! I suppose it's all down to personal taste, I love Latin, funk, soul, rnb, jazz, boogaloo etc so these really do it for me. I can imagine quite a lot people don't like funk or Latin so they may think it's balanced in the wrong way...each to their own which seems to answer a lot of topics on here. Callum.
  9. Tune mate...great dancer
  10. Hi Rob, I'll look into it mate...I hope you are well too. I know he did one or two bits on Dial and i know this was before those recording. If I remember rightly from something i read years ago, this was from his days doing the New Orleans club circuits with the Majestics, Strage how the Mello-Souls are also credited on this track. Cheers Callum
  11. Hi Folks, I'm sure we all have little unknown records in collections, I was wondering if anyone knew of this particular record I have. I picked it up maybe 4 years ago. I have played it out a few times at nights also and asked lots of people if they know it or have ever come across other copies but everyone i have asked knows nothing about it. It's a early group soul dancer: Lil Archie and the Majestics (with the Mello-Souls) - Leave my Girl Alone - Fern I have done some research and it is Archie Himmonds (Little Archie) but i wonder if anyone can give me anymore information to see if there is any links to The Mello Souls as there name features in the title. I know there must of been lots of soul groups with the same name but i know there are some knowledgable people on here who maybe able to shed some light on this rare record? It would be interesting to hear peoples opinions on the record . I personally love it! Callum
  12. Up for grabs a classic soul/Rnb dancer that never fails to fill the floor. Wherever you were is one for the dancers. 'Let it Rain' is for those all-nighter hangover blues ...so much soul! Bud Harper - wherever you were/Let it Rain - Peacock - VG+ (few marks) plays great! Pm if interested Kind regards Callum
  13. Yes mate...Finally. I'm astounded you never offered me a copy in the first place .
  14. You need to box clever Tio, I know the copy you posted the link for ended up in the UK by getting an American based ebayer/friend to bid on the item and send it to the UK. I also know that it sold for roughly the same amount my copy has sold for. I would agree it is us Euorpeans that are responsible for overpriced records however i think the one in question is a solid 175/200 record all day long! I hope you find one soon. Callum

  19. Pretty sure the 45 is from Peru on Rca...it's a slightly different version, the lp is more jazzier with different piano breaks towards the end and the 45 sounds more beefier...the 45 is rare as rocking horse shit, I've been looking for years.
  20. Cheers mate. It's sold! Many thanks Callum
