  1. That's right , but you must have a certificate and / or receipt from PO. You're still covered up to £39 (at the moment - more in April I'm sure) When you fill in the claim form send a copy of the eBay page or copy of the Paypal Transaction - better if you send both. Half the time for amounts like £12, they don't bother to invesigate, but even if they do you should get that back. I generally have to claim about once or twice every two years - last one was only last October for £24.00 - It was sorted by the end of November with a full refund. Cheers Mick Holdsworth
  2. Hello Dave, Almost forgotton about that one - it was a 444 Acetate - think it went to Tim Ashibende, and a few months later found another one, again moved it on. I think the problem was that they were demo takes only, with hardly any instumentation - The copy I had off you was like new, the second one was quite rough, with a big label tear, but a slightly better recording - a little more instumentation, but still lacking that ummph. Wish I had the "other" Chris Jackson song - crackles and pops would not be turned away (Hello John P) Cheers Mick Holdsworth
  3. It was actually the backing track to JJ Barnes' version, remixed with tamborine added. I was with Neil when he did the instrumental, a couple of weeks after the main recording with JJ which I missed. As far as I remember, it never got past a Test Press stage, with one of his earlier releases on the back, might have been Jimmy S Clark or Johnny Bragg - something like that. I know I had one at the time - pure white labels - don't know if I have it now. Don't think Neil did many of them, as it was only a test press - I'm sure he can add to this. Cheers Mick Holdsworth
  4. Think it is just that one. 652 - Take Me ... / Why When ... Cheers Mick Holdsworth
  5. That's the one with Dynatones on the flip - thought it was a Soul Sounds thing - Just noticed the number series is the same as Dave's Tams / Chubby ... EVD being HT 1206 A / B Was that the Soul Sounds numbering, or something else like Magic etc ? Cheers Mick Holdsworth
  6. Don't think anyone has mentioned the Moments / Sharp LP, with "I've Got The Need" and "Just Having Your Love". If so then apologies Cheers Mick Holdsworth

  8. Theres's loads - If you think of all the rare stuff on national labels like RCA / MGM / Columbia etc, the list could be a very big one. As to why they're rare, each has it's own story. Cheers Mick Holdsworth
  9. The LP version of Larry Santos is different though - extra bit in the middle. Cheers Mick Holdsworth
  10. Dave 45 RPM is on the columbia label - it's part of the logo at the top Cheers Mick Holdsworth
  11. There's Brenda Holloway's re-recording, but compared to the other two .... Cheers Mick Holdsworth
  12. Hi Dave I remember having that as a cover up (Agents?), and selling it to you still covered up in the early eighties. In the wake of that you found other stuff on the label like the Soul Blenders etc. Can't remember where I got the Gary Sole from, but it would have been either Sam or Gary Rushbrooke. Cheers Mick Holdsworth
  13. You didn't win it did you ???
  14. Never notice that - yes it is the same seller.
  15. Benji, A real white demo looks like this ... Sharp and clear text. Whilst the bootleg white demo looks like this ... Slightly blurred text - pitted label - very heavy duty vinyl - just like boots of Dave Nemman & Idle Few. Cheers Mick
  16. Well, here it comes again ... https://cgi.ebay.com/...em=390124617330 £52.00 with plenty of time to go. Another £100 maybe ??
  17. Peter Hamilton Generation - Hey Girl - Jamie Cheers Mick Holdsworth
  18. I fact all tracks use original Brunswick backing tracks (and in some cases backing singers) - I love the album - her versions of the Chi-lites "Have You Seen Him" and "Oh Boy" are two of my faves. Cheers Mick Holdsworth
  19. Some of their stuff seems to be sound files taken from the net or just knicked from DJ sets or Radio shows. I say this because firstly, the CD's seem to have occasional tracks that are to "new" for legal CD's (eg Lil' Major Williams appeared on one CD way before it was readily available - that's assuming that is even on a Legal CD yet?). Secondly, I heard one at a party a couple of years ago, and whilst the sound quality of most tracks were OK (just simple CD rips or reasonable mastering from records), one or two tracks noticably dropped in quality - as if they had been though a few file conversions to get a cda track. Cheers Mick Holdsworth
  20. Internationals - Just sold one for £100 (about 6 months ago) - Don't know if that's the going price these days but it seemed about right at the time. Cheers Mick Holdsworth
  21. Ah - yes, see what you mean - the "Item specifics" aren't there on US .com are they Mick
  22. Bit confused here - tried it a couple of hours ago and it works fine - that's .... Home > Buy > Music > Records > 7" Singles > R&B Soul Just tried again - still OK Cheers Mick Holdsworth
  23. First I ever heard of the Greek copies of Frank or Dee Dee were when Ian Clarke had a quantity of them in the very early eighties - I think he knocked them out for either £4.00 or £6.00 each (I know I spent £12.00 but I might have had 3 records for that - can't be that exact) I know it was at the time when a Sassy copy would fetch about £3 or £4, so it seemed like a good investment at the time, but when copies seemed to be everywhere (presumably from Ian - enough copies to satisfy anyone who wanted on at the time), I ended up selling them soon after - Dee Dee turns up regularly, but Frank seemed to be a little more elusive. Cheers Mick Holdsworth
  24. Yeah Pete, neither did I until recently - first one was the copy I saw recently which sparked my interest, and since this Wants post, I've located one more, albeit in rough condition, so I probably won't be having it. Mick
  25. Well, the basic answer is President would have the rights to U.K. release in 1966. A discography for UK President can be found here ... https://www.45cat.com/label/president The Johnny Wyatt listing is for October 1966 - although a reissue scan is used in the discography (same as 108 - Viola Wills above it) Most "Original" Johnny Wyatts for sale are reissues - here's a real one ... Hope that helps Cheers Mick holdsworth
