  1. The other side of this boot is "Shop Around" which was originally on DB 7340 They have just transposed the 3 and 4, so as it appears to be correct font (and just carried it through to the "Stop" side)
  2. I think so, there's a couple on Discogs at the moment for £250 (both M / M- issues V3). All the black copies I could see are either described as V1 or undefined, and all the white ones are either V3 or undefined, so issues of probably V3 probably are harder to find, hence the £250 The V4 is listed as a demo in Discogs, with handclapping, but that distinction is unclear, so that could be either version, and we now know from Kegsey is that his V2 is the same as V3. Yep, you're right of course, the term "Mix" should be read as Version, or Take (I've reverted to V )
  3. Does anyone know if The Groove - Love It's Getting Better, was ever issued on 20th Century (ie a black commercial label). I've only ever seen 20th Century demos and the later Wand promos and releases. Cheers Mick
  4. So it would appear that your "2" and V3 are the same. I also can't really tell the difference in handclaps either. One thing I have just noticed that in Version 1 at about 1:30 there is a line "Yes I Did, Yes, I Did". In version 3 it is just "Yes I Did". There are other subtle differences, but they're hard to discribe. To me at least the overall mix of Version 1 is a little softer than 3, which may be why the handclaps don't seem as prominent. Of couse this may be down to the way each YouTube track was recorded, rather than an inherrent difference in the mastered recordings. Would be interested to get to the bottom of it. Hope John does have some info on this.
  5. Ok, so that theory is down the pan. Just for reference, as far as I can make out, these are the two versions. This is the version WITHOUT the extra vocals - This is version 1 This is version with vocals right at the beginning - Version 3
  6. From the listings above, I see that 3 is an issue and 4 is a demo, but are they the same Mix ? I wonder if it's that 1 and 2 are the same as each other, just issue / demo, and the alternate version appears as both 3 and 4, again just issue / demo ? Mix 1 appears to be an issue, so what is your "2" copy. is it a demo ?
  7. There is also reference to a '4' version too (Just looked at listings on Discogs and there are 3 copies, Versions 1, 3 and 4. Heres what the sellers say ... 8. Thanks Lars, that's probably the case with me. I never went as far as entering an amount - Will test it out next time I see one. Cheers Mick
  9. John, I don't remember the pressing you refer to, but have a "supposedly" different take (just pm'd you)
  10. I've noticed a few time recently, looking at US listings which use this Global shipping, that some items tell you there is £0.00 extra customs to pay, even when the item is at $70 / $80 / $90. I was watching one a few days back (unfortunately I can't remember what it was) and up until the end it was showing zero customs, but when the item finished at just over $100, the customs was shown. Is it a glitch in the system where the excess is only shown AFTER the auction ends, or is it genuinely up to $100 customs free (unlikely). Or am I missing something. Cheers Mick
  11. Just PM'd you
  12. Hope you get up and about soon, very best wishes Mick
  13. I was always convinced (wrongly, of course) that Bobby Wisdom "Handwriting On The Wall" / "Girl I Call My Baby" was Len Barry. At the time (1980 or so) the only copies I'd seen were the uncredited test pressings. Cheers Mick
  14. The white demo is a slightly longer version than the blue issue. The fade out is the same, so for its release, Philips cut out one of the repetitive chorus loops at the end. There are sound clips of the shorter blue issue on YouTube, but couldn't find one for the demo. (there is one showing a picture of the white demo, but is either just the standard version, or the poster faded it out early) Other than that, I don't think there was any difference in take or mix. Cheers Mick
  15. There's a sound file on the eBay listing. Here's a direct link ... https://www.recordsbymail.com/uploads/October_2010/teenage-queen.mp3 Cheers Mick
  16. Don't have an answer, but it reminds me of the Moments "Sharp" LP, The tracks were completely different in the US to the UK
  17. That's OK, I couldn't afford it, unless a load turn up and the price bottoms. Or I get lucky with a find outside this forum. As to Jessie, I can vaguely remember some turning up a while back. I don't know how many, but I'm suprised it was 100 copies, if I read you right.
  18. Yeah, When I said £5000 I was out by a mile, I know. Sorry for the confusion. Actual sale price from December 2013 was £9016.
  19. Sandy Golden might prove somewhat tricky too, especially at £50, or even £5000
  20. or even "The Poor Side Of Town" ?
  21. Thanks Andy, Apart from both of these sides, I'm also convinced the Eddie Singleton composition from a little bit earlier, "I Want A Man", is clearly the same vocalist. Cheers Mick
  22. I've just played A and B side, and she sounds exactly the same. I don't know what to think (unless Eddie Singleton did record the song with another singer, and he assumed it was the one put out by Decca, whereas Lada's Version was the one released. Wonder if Andy could pick up on this. Mick
  23. Just noticed this in this months Anglo American auction. Have cut and pasted the comment ... Artist: LADA EDMUND JR. Title: The Larue Label: Decca 32007 (DJ) Condition: M- A Shrine record in all but label and Eddie Singleton (the producer) told me that on THIS side (but not the flip) he drafted another, black, singer in because the famed white go-go dancer from Hullabaloe couldn't really sing. Thank goodness he did! Her name is pronounced ‘Layda’ by the way. So "The Larue" isn't by Lada Edmund Jr, but the other side, "Soul Au Go Go" is. Whilst this may be common knowledge of course, it was new to me. I learn something new every day. Wonder who sang it, possibly a DC Blossom, or maybe a Chansonette ? Cheers Mick
  24. Thanks Simon, did you work them out yourself.
