  1. Only a short film, but I found this interesting. The Comments below come directly from The Museum of Contemporary Art Dennis Hopper has described the experience of seeing Bruce Conner's A MOVIE (1958) like lifting the veil from his eyes, an associative blur of images that would go on to influence the infamous acid trip scene in his film Easy Rider. Years later, Hopper recalls, he and Dean Stockwell held the lights for Conner as he filmed Toni Basil dancing for BREAKAWAY (1966), the short film set to her song of the same name. A rare example of a Bruce Conner musical film containing all original photography, what makes the film unquestionably Conner is his frenetic editing and the evanescence of his subject, a spirit flickering in celluloid. The flashes of figure would reappear in Conner's sculptural photograms such as "Sound of Two Hand Angel" (1974). Director: Chris Green. Producer: Matthew Shattuck. Executive Producer: Chris Green, Noah Khoshbin, Emma Reeves, John Toba. Editor: Curtis Tamm. Director of Photography: Curtis Tamm, Peter Kirby, Kaitlin Dixon, Kevin Southworth. Assistant Camera: Eugenia Barbuc, Morgan Kessler. Music Clearances: Colby Trane. Interviews: Toni Basil, Bruce Jenkins. 5. Yes John, Dave Thorley had one for sale about 15 years ago.
  6. The white Inspirations / Companions Benn-X originated from Dave Browns own site, a few years after the Yellow release. Back then the site was something like funkadelphia.com ? I see it's now phillyjazztime and it just shows the yellow release (sold out). Dave Brown did do a sentence in the description explaining the renaming, but I can't rememberr what it said. Maybe Dave can shed some light on the reason for the renaming of "I Can Feel It".
  7. According to J Manship on Discogs, it is Chuck Kenwood and Jan Bradley https://www.discogs.com/Jan-Chuck-What-A-Weekend-West-Coast-Living/release/5296478 Although I see that has been questioned this very day, and is probably a mistake. I've never heard it so I don't know if it is a duet
  8. 45cat has release dates for Jan & Chuck as 1966 and both The Royal Chessmen and The Chapter as 1968. Discogs has similar info for the label, with Royal Chessmen down as 1967, however the 45cat site has . . . "Release date is 1968. Verified by newspaper article touting the group's release of their new record "Can't You See" The Tribune (Coshocton, Ohio) · Fri, Mar 1, 1968 · Page 14" . . . so that would probably be more reliable. Here's a listing for the Night Owl label. https://www.45cat.com/label/night-owl-us

  10. I used to go for them myself until a few years ago when the penny dropped.
  11. Next thing will be an equivalent of the recent Xbox or Playstation eBay scam. "Absolutely genuine Billy Arnell original photo". Guess what the buyer will receive.
  12. Sure thing - Thanks - will pm you details in a moment.

  14. Hi Phil, I have a spare copy M- condition - £100 all in to UK If interested PM me Cheers Mick
  15. When it first turned up as Soul Bowl I think it was probably a new release, or if not, only a few months old. As you say, easily available. So was Charles Johnson.
  16. Very sad news. Len was one of my favourire singers.
  17. I presume it's the same, it's definately the "Get Involved" GS
  18. Anyone know what the George Soule went for on Anglo American auction on Thursday (29/10). I saw it at £1300 about 5:30 but forgot about it till the page vanished after 6:00 Cheers
  19. Didn't realise it was on this Lp either. Well found. Always felt it was simply the Jaybirds.
  20. Good luck John, It's the only one I need myself, been after it for ages. Got the other 14.
  21. The backing to Rose Battiste is so familiar, is that from something obvious, or is my imagination.
  22. Love the flattening sevice as being "both sides". I've a few lightly heat warped records, might give it a try.
  23. The bottom one with the time as 2:43 is a boot. The font is a givaway. The top one real, with time at 2:22
