I don't think you come over as you have stated a Pratt as for todays prices it depends who you buy off if your sensible about it you should be able to get original vinyl at decent affordable prices as I try to .I just never have known anyone impressed with knock of goods or reproductions if you own a real Rolex I am impressed but if its from Hong kong naaaaa .Same as a refabricated or copied scooter or motorbike or guitar it just not the same as the real thing what would rather a 1966 GP 200 or a a indian made GP 200 or a 200 scalmadi. not that there is a problem with either scooters they are just not the real thing .As for gifted records by females ill have to take you word on that one as I have been married for 32 years I would not put in print that even if it was so ,far to frighten of the mrs . reissues have there place but not the kind of thing you would openly admit to preferring im sure if you wore levis you would not be impressed with the same jeans with word lives on or a buy knockoff handbag for the mrs ,

why don't you then get them on original then you could really peacock round to your young hipster mates .I know that all the youngsters that come regular to Nuneaton that I chat to are all into original vinyl . dress in sixties clothing (MOD ) ,only meet youngsters at all-nighters as I not a a regular in the pub drinking scene .

he stated the other day that he was interested in helping new groups getting established as the larger company's are not bothering & that he gone into business partnership with a small label record company third man records & has stated that the vinyl in twelve inch format was for new music at presentation party held at the plant , in detroit

I would not of thought so why press out old stuff when theirs a hungry top 100 pop tune that have the potential of making millions a week theirs plenty of reissues & bootlegs very much doubt they would bother with blues or soul in the USA . Their is no real market for it they will have investors .Teres to pressing plants in haarlem Holland & they have not bothered pressing soul records or blues to busy selling rave music for current mixing DJs in clubs in Europe.

Charlotte Stokes - is this a 'real' record?
Ian Stacey replied to Pete S's topic in Look At Your Box
Always have been told if it has 4, 5. run off lines to believe that's is Belgium bootleg .manship & brown & Koppel have the same description in the early book I never heard of it but Simon did a huge number of stuff like that .there's a jay trynor on DCP13302 it has the same format as the one in photo & that's a boot from Belguim . -

Ian Stacey replied to Ljblanken's topic in All About the SOUL
lovely Gaff ! your dance floor is about same as ours to jig around on . yours is a little club house of gaff . luv it .living the dream ! -
stopped going to scooter rallies in the mid eighties to many people into stray cats rocker billy stuff I have never associated the scooter scene with northern soul as rarely do you see a scooter outside an All-nighter most soulies drive cars always have done if some minority on the scooter scene feels this way leave them to it saves me playing tune up or Muriel day or the snake

finally got my record/stereo set up nicely!
Ian Stacey replied to Ljblanken's topic in All About the SOUL
I got bought 2 decks Stanton T62 from the mrs already had a ps621i Gemini mixing decks .bought myself two pioneer sjd50x amplified speaker sound is fab I live in a 1860 terrace so have a 12ft by 13 ft wooden yew dance floor the decks on a leaf table in the second living room /dinning room records in boxes beneath just perfect for entertaining mates or practicing sets . -
very true mark better to find tunes your really into & in my case play them out & hope that everyone else in the room thinks that & dances to them ,does not have to be big money tunes just really good northern I would rather here a cheapie that fills the floor than a tune that has had its day& cost 300 plus .

This is one aspect of collecting that I can never understand is that there are a lot of peeps out there that pay incredible prices for that are not that rare then look down at you if you have paid less money .Like spending more money for the same record in the same condition is a good thing .that frankly I just do not get ,I was fortunate to go to the states in the early eighties & bought most of what now have become very expensive .I paid a couple of dollars at the most originals as I was based in Seattle fort Tacoma the was an abundance of them .I stopped telling people how little I paid for them the seem to get annoyed then tell how much it will cost you now on discogs or manships prices I never bought for there worth I bought them because I loved the record ,some I bought because I knew mates wanted them which I probably sold it to them with a 50 pence gain or less it was never about the price even back then I found records that where a couple of dollars that djs where back then boasting how hard it was to find hence the high prices in England but pennies in the states .so those people who pay high prices now think that the are superior in some way I find baffling , they seem to almost mock people who are still sensible about what they spend . people can be very odd about this I never get that aspect at all. .I never buy Northern soul to sell on for profit I look for old ska ones & sell them to make more money to by more Northern as there prices to have hiked up I feel more comfortable to do that as there not part of the same scene ,I would do the same with old punk records as well as there prices go up .I also swop records with mates rather than cash as if there about the same price sometimes less sometimes more makes no difference to me I find it more rewarding to do that, hate taking hard earned cash of mates for records much rather just swop .with them .

No problem I would never slag any one of on here I may generalise but as I said if you knew me you would know I just do not do that & don't worry I have a word with the whisperers no harm done.
-
why in gods name would you think that. did I mention Australia. no I didn't;t never been there & to tell the truth have no intention of ever going there, your comments are without any substance .If you knew me you would know that your way off the mark need to reel in that paranoia of yours . you have issues , my comments are not aimed at any venue or country but it is aim at people that think that original vinyl is what you need to have to play out at a all-nighter you do .reissues are a cheap way to listen to your favourites AT HOME NOT OUT TO A PAYING PUBLIC that is a con .hope the clears it up for you chorey bloke regards IAN STACEY .

they do care if its ovo if there truly into the scene those that hang out on occasion don't give a shit but dedicated soulies do.i hear people still to this day at ALLnighters praising DJs who spent the hard earned cash on original records to share with others . may be a different story at your local pubs tamla motown night but at allnighter they care
