  2. As tomorrow is the last Monday in the month, it's my turn in the chair again tomorrow night 7-9pm, www.starpointradio.com Lots of nice new music in there............70's lovers on this site should listen out for the Mary J Blige track Cheers, Mark R
  3. Still a great, great record Cheers, Mark R
  4. Mind & Matter - I'm Under Your Spell/Sunshine Lady M-/Ex+ £425 Sound files lifted from the actual vinyl: Mind___Matter___I_m_Under_Your_Spell___1977_M_M.mp3 Mind___Matter___Sunshine_Lady___1977_M_M.mp3 PM if interested please. Cheers, Mark R
  5. Sure that's slightly tongue in check mate, but it certainly makes no sense whatsoever to have NO CD players in a modern room...........I would go as far as to say only having one CD player is not acceptable. You can't be playing the best contemporary music around if you aren't able to use CD and vinyl decks IMHO..........well, not via legitimate copies anyway........that said, I guess most stuff is available legit via download now....but not all! Like I always say..........choosing your music based on format is bizarre in the extreme............and that's from a vinyl lover.............vinyl is nice to have, but I wouldn't let it dictate my purchases.........it's the music that counts Cheers, Mark R
  6. Thinking back to those smoky long nights on a NS dance floor, this is a peach of a record that I would describe as perfect Northern Soul. Love it to bits Cheers, Mark R
  7. I too have one of these.............you have to admire the originators (?) sense of humour.............think about it.................A REE PRODUCTION it says on the label Cheers, Mark R
  8. My friend.........you talk in the kind of riddles I don't understand!!!! Cheers, Mark R
  9. Of course you're right.............you've only got to take a look at Gene Hunt & Stax from Abicah Soul Project to see that!! No different to me than watching a hero of 60's black America telling his/her story..............it's all facinating and all part of a rich musical history that continues to evolve. I wonder what exciting developments there'll be tomorrow Cheers, Mark R
  10. Great post Cheers, Mark R
  11. Thanks T.........much appreciated mate!! Cheers, Mark R
  12. Probably initially Sam Dees "After All"...........but that would have to soon turn into Cecil Lyde "I'll Make It On My Own" Cheers, Mark R
  13. Known as the "cut-out bin" in the shops Cheers, Mark R
  14. Well, it must sound ike that to you I suppose..........depends what you're listening to, might not be the music I'm thinking of, but if it happens to be, then I'd say that's bollocks!! Cheers, Mark R
  15. Larry Houston is another case in point..........I have the cleaner looking, yet probably less "original" looking pale orange label............the other is a darker oreange/red. Both OG vinyl with different labels??? Cheers, Mark R
  16. Certainly been on a vinyl comp. Sean..............Goldmine "Modern Soul Vol 1" as I recall......grey cover. Cheers, Mark R
  17. Unusually for me Simon, I can't remember where this came from..............NOT Soul Bowl though. Cheers, Mark R
  18. Thanks mate.....appreciate that..........a long standing question answered!! Cheers, Mark R
  19. The 2nd image posted is the copy I have, what's the difference? Are they both OG or is one a booter? I just bought it back in my younger days when I naively thought it was what was in the grooves that counted!! Cheers, Mark R

  24. To be honest Pete, that's what I'd expect to hear from a 60's 4/4 etc, etc lover...............I would always expect those folk to like house rather than the smother stuff that the likes of Roger Williams, myself and numerable others also play..........it's mor akin to their roots. Always surprises me that very little do though (or SAY they do)........will it change????? Cheers, Mark R
