  1. Hi Matt, It wouldn't be the Regent Club would it? Martha Reeves was pulled from the Leisure Centre last minute and the nighter took place at the Regent Club......just across the lights. Cheers, Mark R
  2. PM'd you! Cheers, Mark R
  3. Does Edwin split the crowd down the middle and do the (left) "War, what is it good for", (right) "absolutely nothin'"? I'm sure I recall that but I saw him several times and he probably ALWAYS did it!! Will be downloading that Pete, for sure! :-) Cheers, Mark R
  4. Would love to hear that Pete.......my first ever all nighter so special significance or me! :-) Cheers, Mark R
  5. Anybody know? Stronger and or/lighter? Worth the extra cost? Cheers, Mark R
  6. I have to admit, from what I have read on this thread, I was thinking along these lines Chalky. Cheers, Mark R
  7. What I don't understand Pete, if this is true................why the screens? Just doesn't add up! Cheers, Mark R
  8. Bloody hell! So is my red/pink Carstairs a legit release or not? LOL This is exactly why I'm happy with my new releases and buy very few older/rare records......it's a minefield if you're not really 100% keyed in to it! It doesn't really matter, as I just bought it as a young lad that wanted the sound and wasn't hooked up on the kerlecting thing......it certainly didn't cost me a lot...... But threads like this remind me of how fraught all this is!! It also puts a bit of a different slant on the playing OVO thing, as I'm sure in lots of cases folk wouldn't realise they weren't playing OVO with releases like this. Hell, even the cognoscenti can't agree!! Cheers, Mark R
  9. What's the benefit of the Swan "Flight Panel" option, if any? And I see what you mean about off-centre handle.....they put it centrally, but then when you use it, it hinges up to be off-centre and the weight doesn't sit centrally, right? Chalky, you saying they now offset the handle so it's central when operated? See, who says "a box is a box"? Will look at the Blakka today, see what else is said here, and then make a choice so that my missus can get one in tine for my birthday! :-) Cheers chaps, Mark R
  10. Thanks for the info so far gents, those Swans do look like they fit the bill at a sensible price. Cheers, Mark R
  11. What better place to ask for recommendations for 7" record boxes than on Soul Source. I'm looking for something a little more sturdy than my trusty ADDA case which has served me well, but was never what I REALLY wanted. Has anyone got one of those from our friend Mr. Manship? Seem a little pricey but that's the kind of thing I'd like, so if I have to pay that kind of money then well, needs must!! Any recommendations on that style of aluminium lockable box? Sort of 100/150 count or thereabouts? Would also prefer one that I can put little padlocks on, rather than built in locks which might not be up to it..........but that's getting picky, as I'm sure some of those with built in locks are robust. Strong, secure and water (beer!) proof is the priority. Cheers, Mark R
  12. Result!!........
  13. 500 pressed.......... Cheers, Mark R
  14. I'll let you know mate...........ordered from Z website last Friday so expect it any day if it is pressed up ready to go. I suspect it will come today/tomorrow as I'm sure Sean had a photo of a box of albums on his Facebook page! That Tom Noble thing came back in at Juno yesterday.....very high demand so i bagged one of those whilst I could! See you at SU buddy...... Cheers, Mark R
  15. Absolutely essential...................... https://www.zrecords.ltd.uk/product-detail/Artist+Albums/46/Z+Records/Sean+McCabe/It%27s+Time+%28Extended+Versions%29/download/332 But in truth you really need the CD or download option too, or you are missing some of the best tracks.............like "Who's Fooling Who" and "Love For Life". Cheers, Mark R
  16. Steve Potts from Nottingham maybe? Cheers, Mark R
  17. Does anyone understand the review in Soul Survivors magazine better than I do? Cheers, Mark R
  18. C'mon Stevie.......we're waiting! Need that Soul Sam Mind & Matter review if you find it in there too! Cheers, Mark R
  19. Alright Steve? Remember that bootleg back then? Enchantments one side and Rodd Keith on t'other? Cheers, Mark R
  20. No.....and I hate the fact that some people I know just don't understand that there's anything other than Northern Soul when I talk soul.....quite sad really! ! Cheers, Mark R
  21. Like I say....atmospheric.......43:30 here......Clive Jones...... https://www.mixcloud.com/soulboymark/hinckley-leisure-centre-all-niter-live-december-1983/ Cheers, Mark R
  22. It might be a pop record, and I'm all for maintaining the soul content, but accepting that the Northern scene hasn't always concerned itself too much with that I have always thought of this record as a NS dancers dream of a record.......atmospheric, the drum rolls, break down etc. Love it.....of its time.... Cheers, Mark R
  23. Covered up as Kenny Smith "And The Lord Said"........the Lordy bit being the Kenny Smith connection no doubt. Cheers, Mark R.
  24. Always loved it.......Kenny Smith "And The Lord Said"........that tinkly piano!! Cheers, Mark R
  25. Sorry.....I can see the confusion........that last post was relative to the thread elsewhere, not anything you'd said! Cheers, Mark R
