  3. Marie knight to me is a sound that always captures the spirit of the main hall and deserves its place as a true classic sounds as good today as it always did just wish I could afford to buy one

My first night at the casino in 78 aged 15 , I heard teddy vanns theme from coloured man, the burning bush and my favourite of the night , cobblestone the dancing was out of this world and i had never heard music like this before strange and exciting, I knew was was in the right place and stayed on the scene until the last night of the casino i became a mr Ms fan and spent most of my time in there from 3am wonderful times
  6. First event for me was the Dixieland all dayer in Morecambe 77. age 14 I kept asking for the soul brother six ( 4 times ) DJ kept saying yes etc never did get the hear it. they were playing, manifesto, age of the wolf and put me in your pocket . great all dayer

  17. hi mark i am ok thanks good to hear from you Marc F had incredible taste in music he was really at the cutting-edge of the modern scene , he was there leading the change right at the beginning in todmordon With soul Sam and about 40 soul fans in 1979/80 , his dad had a bar and he would play me some really rare stuff at the time, on the oldies side he was one of the first to have a copy of the seventh avenue aviators on Congress . we were very close and went to the casino together for about three years with Leon as he was a bit younger than me , we had some amazing times together , really the best of times take care Neil
  18. Very very sad news to hear the passing of Mark , he was an inspirational modern soul man ahead of his time we spent many nights at the casino and morecambe clubs being childhood friends , sharing so many good times can’t believe it , my thoughts are with his loved ones
