  1. hair bloody hair more like
  2. "Are there many DJs with shaggy hair who put good sets together on a regular basis? Most good DJs have short crops or bald bonces." Are there any with thatched hair AND moustaches?
  3. Beautiful record!
  4. The Marvin Gaye price is scary, can't believe JT Rhythm went for the same! Something must be wrong there? Isn't that a lot for Al Mason as well?
  5. Always thought 'Tell Her' is a beautiful and eerie record. Whats the deal with it rarity wise?
  6. It's been on the bay now and then Callum (Popsike shows one in oct last year and then jan of 2009) so you should strike gold sooner or later?...surprised this never got more action in mod clubs in the past, or maybe it did?
  7. Whats the rarity on this? I've noticed it isn't booked. Tidy group mover, its a different group from the Chick Carlton outfit i take it or the group on Linda?
  8. Lovely sinister group r&s....love the rising guitar licks in the last third. Good luck!

Isn't 'I Dig You' on One Way?
  12. "i agree, i can't believe people in this thread are saying that a beach and garage/tex-mex group's cover of one of the great early 70s soul group records are better than the original. i don't think that the covering groups would even say that." Like the Bluesbag version but it needs to lose the choppy organ. The Intrigues is lovely. I really like the RJ one as well but don't think anyone said it was neccasarily better?
  13. I think CDKM has a Blues Bag copy for sale @ £300, not keen on the weird choppy organ in it myself. The other two versions are better imho, and for the price, surely the Intrigues version
  14. Isn't there a Braswell on Gene too?
  15. "nah it's good to keep one on ones toes when changing the old records over" Used to have British club soul thing by Lee Grant that stopped dead for about 6 seconds then kicked back in.....always used to forget and start another record off! Doh....
  16. Would have to say one of the few r&b records i regret selling. If you look in the runout someone has carefully scratched in "Love" in Cheers-esque writing! Anything else on the (beautiful) Club 7 label?
  17. Think the Flint Emeralds is quite a tough record to find?
  18. "FASCINATORS??????????? THIS SURELY HASN`T BEEN ON EBAY IN ANY QUANTITY. I MUST HAVE MISSED SOMETHING" 8 copies in three years, and thats the ones that Popsike are showing......
  19. ray pollard shrine? fascinators? these are all amazing records...
  20. "LT= Lester Tipton ?" sorry no little tommy, but lets add lester tipton too! what about ralph soul jackson, eula cooper? four voices? locations?
  21. You'd still have some collection on your hands if you owned that little lot tho!!
  22. Didn't realise there had been 30 copie sof Joe Jama! I still don't have one tho About six LT's came from one guy from Virginia about four or five years ago. Then another couple appeared from the same area under a different seller I think? Also, a few Ray & The Blue Satins have started to appear on ebay, but again, still a very hard record to obtain. One that defintely seems to have retained super hard rarity is The Nomads...has it ever been for sale on ebay? (my Popsike membership has run out!)
  23. "So are these records now considered to be not really that good anymore, or to a certain extent frowned upon as a few copies have turned up?" If that is whats being suggested then its a very sad day and only proves that people want these records as trophies as opposed to actually liking them - heaven forbid! And putting records like the Tranells in a list with things that have OBVIOUSLY turned up in LARGE quantity (ie Clara Hardy) doesn't make sense either. Lets get a grip practically all of the records mentioned here are in no way easy to come buy, and certainly not cheap! I doubt the proles will be wandering around with pockets stuffed full of Tranells & Magnetics..... Surely ebay would have to be saturated before we can say a previously super rare records can no longer be considered rare any more, and therefore supposedly a bit shit?
  24. Also it depends on what you mean by 'de-rarified'? Little Tommy or Al Williams are not everyday records by any stretch (but certainly not in the rarity league of say Soul Inc or Little Stanley) however I think you would still need to do a fair bit of searching (or have deep pockets) to quickly come into possession of either of those records.
