  1. There was another record on this label that was pretty good early seventies funky crossover by a group that went on ebay yesterday. Where is the label from, Detroit?
  2. willing to pay good money on one if anyone has it for sale?
  3. Whenever this gets played out i never see much reaction to it, although personally i think its brilliant.....where does it get action?
  4. VG+ upward if anybody has a spare please! Many thanks!
  5. Terrible news, again hope you get you records back. I think the reward idea sounds like a good one, thieves are greedy and probably have no idea what they have. If they do check up on the value of the 45s on the internet, then you may also have a chance of tracking them down as they come up for sale? All the best Stefan.
  6. 'fack arf' Is this German?! Or Welsh maybe?
  7. Think its the 'Train' side Pete
  8. Thats the one 'Gone' great record...think Haim Kenig had one of these recently?
  9. Think this has the same backing as The Mark V Unlimited on Sagport?
  10. I wouldn't say its irrelevant Pete, often the argument i hear for the Beatles is that they are the innovators of everything, particularly new & interesting arrangements in popular music so its interesting to me to discuss the wheres and whys of that viewpoint.
  11. ' the Beatles had been experimenting in the studio for a good 2 years before Deram was formed in 1967.' Experimenting or releasing Pete? Revolver being before Deram was setup definitely....was it '66?
  12. You can really hear what a poor vocalist McCartney is on the Motown/Beatles track. The Beatles made some interesting and forward thinking music for sure, (Tomorrow Never Knows for example off their best album imho) but they did plagiarize a lot of stuff and had their ear to the ground listening to lots of contemporary groups, a rudimentary trawl through Deram and other similar labels output of the time proves that. Are we simply going on record sales here? Interesting the way the phrasing used by the Beatles fans becomes ('And the Beatles are a great group, probably the best ever, and if you don't love them you're a loser who needs their ears washing out') at the thought of people disagreeing with the established world view that they are 'the best band ever to walk the earth'. Often hear Beatles fans banging on in this fashion
  13. Two great sides, can't ask for more from a 45! Amazing the way he comes in with the vocal on Silly Kind Of Love.....
  14. Think MIck played Lost In The Crowd in Asturias the other weekend and it sounded awesome. Hope to hear it out more as its a fantastic dancer.
  15. I had Sebastian Williams on SOS for a while, wish i had keep it now, the flip Hometown Boy is awesome....appears to be much rarer than Little Tommy. LT one of the best rhythm & soul records ever though imho
  16. Don't bother with any of these and listen to Cliff Nobles version instead as that beats all the others hands down imho
  17. wow great price for the royal five!
  18. Many thanks to all who have replied, a great record!
  19. Does anyone have any info on this 1971 Ohio release please? Has it had plays anywhere, rarity & availability? Many thanks!! JM
  20. The Dynamics cut of 'My Life Is No Better' is on the Larry Banks Family comp that Ady put out a while back and is much more polished and fantastic, but I think maybe this version pips it....dripping with soul and Jaibi's vocal is incredible. The male vocal is also sublime. Sounds awesome out at the 100 as well. Top, top record....
  21. Lots of Shiptown stuf fon the 'Ol' Virgina Soul' comps...also the two Salem rarities and William Cummings. Excellent comps, well produced with excellent notes and well mastered as well.
  22. the flip of anytime is a beautiful group dancer, two great sides.
  23. "Now thats a offer i cant refuse now can i mulf ...see ya then matey, hows Ady L these days aint seen him in ages..? Toby" Hello mate Luppers is fine, spoke to him earlier, hope you are well yourself..... Flyer for the next VVV will be up in the next couple of weeks...
