  1. Hi re: our discussion yesterday, have sent you a mail as requested and pm for payment details, thanks!
  2. 'Thought the person asking for a value was the person who started the thread' Me too! Best to lock it and let people pm you...
  3. Unfortunately there is a lot of truth in this i think...
  4. I didn't see it at that price! Whoa! Would of thought between £750 - £850 for a clean copy of this?!
  5. Wonder if we are all singing off the same hymn sheet with our understanding of what crossover is??
  6. 'OF COARSE IT'S NORTHERN' I've often found northern to be very coarse, maybe why crossover has such an appeal i suppose...
  7. ' HI ALL ... CROSSOVER WELL THERE ARE SEVERAL VERSIONS OF THIS TERM THAT CAN BE APPLIED, BUT I THINK MINE IS THE MOST MEANINGFUL, CROSS :hatsoff2:SOEVER SOUL WAS A NAME USED BUY SOME PEOPLE WHO WANTED TO HAVE LOTS OF CHEAP DISCO RECORDS AND TRY TO BECOME A DJ WITH THEM, THIS IS NOT THE SAME AS IAN LAVINIE COLIN CURTIS SOUL SAM KEB DARGE AND SO ON WHO ENJOYED THIS TYPE OF SOUND, IT WAS AIMED AT PEOPLE WHO WANTED TO HAVE A RARE 60S NORTHERN SOUL COLLECTION BUT SIMPLY COULD NOT AFFORD 10 RARE NORTHERN RECORDS WHEN THEY COULD USE HALF OF THE MONEY TO BUY 1000 RUN OF THE MIL SOUL RECORDS FROM THE LATE 50S AND 70S , SO IT IS FOR HAT REASON ALONE IT IS CALLED CROSSOVER, ANOTHER POINT TO CONSIDER IS, WOULD YOU CLASS GREG PERRY THE CARSTAIS MONTCLAIR'S WELL YOU GOT IT AS NORTHERN OR CROSSOVER, OF COARSE IT'S NORTHERN, CROSSOVER IS FOR PEOPLE WHO CAN NOT AFFORD TO BUY RARE RECORDS AS ALWAYS DAVE'' Wonderful bullshit! Top work sir!
  8. The flip is a gorgeous record in its own right
  9. Rare and semi known funky dancer with a great sweet soul flip. M- £SOLD top side bobby o brown.mp3 sweet side:
  10. Mick H played the flip of this a while back and its sounded great out
  11. Thought £2 - £3 was about right? Might be wrong however. Be funny if a load pop out of the woodwork once the US sellers spot the £20k 'advert' listing!
  12. Great price, i'll have 5 copies please
  13. If thats the flip of the 'It's Laid On You' acetate James T. used to have then its a really nice mid tempo record. Great news that it was issued in some form!
  14. Thought Tim was one of the few with this as in you could count the copies on one hand. As hard as Combinations also on Kellmac? Tim still plays it i think?
  15. Heard Mick Smith play the Sensations quite a few times a couple of years back at the 100. Adam Torel has a copy of it as well, awesome 45.
  16. Have just picked up a spare ET White - Got To Find A True Love / Walk On Woman in VG++ condition. Excellent funky northern dancer thats quite hard to find. Went down well at the 100 Club last Saturday. SOLD Also Paramount Four 100 Club 'Sorry Ain't The Word' single mint condition £70 £50 (overpriced this so have reduced accordingly) Thanks!
  17. The bass line is reminicent of Roy Budd stuff.....also the arrangement just sounds like it should be on some sort of late 60's Deram rarity or something. Very unusual sound, and great that so many people are into it!
  18. Anyone got a spare of this tidy cheapie? My xmas pressie one went missing in the post!
  19. Mid tempo side: mojave - never give up your love - north star
  20. VG++ Rare double sided modern winner, Soul Sam spin apparently. Sold at £400 a couple of years ago and (fairly) recently auctioned by Manship. £SOLD
  21. Yes Andy Killick has been playing it for ages and theres been a muffed copy floating about for while, all before the ebay copies. Plus its been on rarest of the rare for about four or so years. Agree, amazing rare northern, and the flip is great group soul too. The other stuff on the label isn't that hot unfortunatley, though I think Benny Scott has had plays on the mod scene in the past. Vandalettes would be good but suffers from poor vocals.
  22. Even better chance of hearing it out then!
  23. A double sider as well! We live for this sort of find!
